More options have presented themselves over the past few days, what would you choose?
One
Bar work here in Cala Millor. It's another 'maybe', but could involve 7/8 hour shifts from late afternoon until close. The place is on the sea front and looks much busier than where I was at last year. I'll have to learn how to carry a tray of drinks, but the clientele are mostly English. Positives are that I'll have days in the sunshine and cash to tide me over for the summer.
Two
Braga. Up in the northwest corner of Portugal, there is a Sharepoint Admin role going. Monthly income would be way more than the bar work, but the lifestyle is a change. 9-5, screens and meetings, and honestly the pay proposed is nothing special. I have 0 Portuguese, and although it's not required for the role, no friends and no local dialect could be a bit of a bummer. Braga looks nice though, if you like your history that is.
Three
England. Probably the best 3/4 months to head 'home' weather-wise, but that's not saying much. There are no jobs waiting, but it could be the best place to pick something up and be able to save a little money / buy STEEM. And my daughter will be closer, although that depends which part of the country I'd end up at.
At present, I am siding towards one more summer in the sun, before giving in to reality and going back to office work. It would make sense to complete the minimum employment years to be able to claim the full English state pension, even though there are no guarantees it will exist in 28 or so years time. Blahh.
It's not quite the day to worry and decide though, soon....
Have a good weekend all
Asher
Sounds like you've already decided on option number one buddy! life's way too short; pick what you want to do, not what you should do😊❤️
Now swaying to option 3 :)
Nice to hear from you Lynn!
I really like the place, makes me remember our nearby beach here, and my college crush passing by. It makes me giggle and pretty friends we like are there too, we just bumped into each other. I wish I can go there again. I think the beach is perfect for family bonding.
I agree, a lovely place to relax with family and friends - I wish more of them could join me each day.
You mean which would I choose if I were you?
The England option sounds like the worst of the three because you don't have a job waiting for you there. You could end up anywhere in the country. What good would it be it to you to end up somewhere far from your daughter and your other relatives if you had to be in England? Even if the pay were so much better as to compensate for the cost of relocation and the much higher living expenses, getting the job might take a few weeks of job hunting, which could make the financial advantage of moving to England null and void.
Would you really dislike having to spend 3-4 months in Braga? Or would having to spend all day at the office and the more stressful work be the worst aspect of that? At least you could make better Steem posts while in Braga. You could photograph the city and the surrounding landscape and make posts about the history of the place if that's of any interest to you.
The bar work sounds like something you can always go back to. Is it?
Yes.
Thanks for the comment. You are spot on about the UK, and that's without the weather being considered.
Braga is by the looks of it, a full-time contract. I'm surprised at this as getting rid of duff IT staff is a pain in a lot of companies sides. It would unlikely be worth a short-term move there though, a year mininum really. You are right about having a new location to share. I had a look through Steem's history with regards to Braga and there is very little (2 posts), and it does look like a city that enjoys a camera.
I'm sure I could return to bar work - the least likely to be linked to 'saving for the future', which is the done thing, isn't it?
It sounds like next summer working at the bar is in the cards, then. If that's what it's going to be, I suggest that you double down on your efforts to make money on Steem by producing interesting content.
Doesn't eventually your heart goes in one direction more than the other ? This is always the right to pick for me...when you go along with your true desire (meaning in alignment with your soul), you never can be wrong, and it never can go wrong, everything will work out for you Asher 😉
And nobody can tell you the right direction, because nobody lives your life nor knows where you are,
and I would add there is no right or wrong direction, there are only paths we take sometimes that are more long that it could have been, just enjoy and appreciate along the way and you will never feel doing something wrong 😊
Thank you for this nice message @barbara-orenya
I guess my heart and soul are torn right now, and it is making decisions more difficult.
I'll try another path again this summer and re-evaluate as I go, trying to enjoy as much as possible, and perhaps one day there will be some alignment. 😊
Always pick the summer in the sun. There will be a day it isn't a (viable) option anymore and then one can't have had enough of them to reminisce on.
I like your thinking man!
Speaking to a guy out here the other day
It's a tough call.
That guy you spoke to is totally right.
It was an enlightening moment.
Well... (international) seasons in the bar and club scene have made me travel most (party) corners of Europe. While I have had some periods of being longer in a location, eventually I emigrated to Asia Pacific, via some time in Cyprus.
I did find my place to retire, 34 was just too young for Cyprus. I still have at least one major relocation in me before returning to "retire". I'm 44 now btw.
If you think you can still do it now... do it. If the call is tough now, it will be only harder to make that same decision every future year. We do get older and it does change our thinking (for most).
Right. Yeah I think I've got a few more years left before it's time to make a final decision.
It's not that i'm into the party lifestyle still (at 40), the long warm days are what keep me away from home.
Cyprus sounds like a nice place to be, plenty of sun to enjoy there.
The 4th (and feeling so unlikely that I didn't bother to list it) option is for STEEM to go mad and give at nice cushion for the future. Yeah, typing that makes me realise why I didn't bother in the first place :)
Steem has been going mad but not in the direction envisaged.
Yeah... sigh.
Look for a job which is growth oriented and also near to your daughter !! Money and family both are important for a good life !! 👍

I had that, and it made me incredibly unhappy at the time. But maybe it is also time to give it another go. Thanks for your input 😊
Summer sun. Spain. Bar work. Live life. Don't do bragababa or miserable blighty
There, sorted :0D
That's option 1 btw, lol!
❤️
This is the one I want!
It's the only one that makes sense!! :0)
flip a coin. and then flip it again and again if you don't like the result:)
With 3 options there is going to be plenty of flipping - side of the coin for option 3? 😬
There’s no better place than Cala Millor...or perhaps some “calas” at Menorca will fit well. 😉
Posted using Partiko iOS
Plenty of solid Calas knocking around, I'll take any of them over rain clouds!
That's a tough one...England - no job (yet) but you'll be closer to your girl. That counts for something.
Portugal, well, that's where I'm heading, but of course, the country is huge so I don't know much about Braga. I've just started Portuguese on Duolingo!
The salary is better, which would buy you more Steem, but I don't think the 9-5 office hours would suit me long, personally. But I'm not you of course. Maybe you can do the job where you are for now, and then you can always later decide, or something might come up by then?
Of course, you can just turn on 'Shake it off' and find a solution in some dance moves...
Yes it does count for something, and I think it might be the winner over the coming weeks.
'Shake it off' like Taylor Swift? - good idea, I shall watch that video right now :D
Hehe, when do we get to see a video of you 'shaking it off'? That sounds worse than it was meant to be LOL. Or maybe you could shake yourself towards Bangkok in November and just make it to SF4 this year? We're expecting you!
Haha, right it does!
I'll start saving today, would love to go!
Yeah, I am manifesting like crazy. Especially since I am not planning on leaving Asia any time soon once we get there. WILL see you there!
Three.
Two votes for 3 - it is option 3 for a reason! 😁

Braga sounds like fun, a new adventure awaits?
Will be rather lonely to start, but could be an interesting one, and likely keep me out of trouble for a little while.
If/when I speak to them again, I'm going to push for some relocation help if they are keen to have me.
Start at the local and you will be fine. :)
The beginning of every good and bad night out!
I'd pick Braga for perfect compromise between 'Mo Money Mo STEEM' and also 'Not go from Sun to Rain' :D But who am I, I love Portugal :D
Just don't trip, that's all there is to it :P
Well that sounds easy enough, I don't trip too often!
Decisions, decisions...
Stay where your at and keep looking. Take anything for income to get you through. All three options are not great. You take the one that can inflect the lest amount of harm.
On the lighter side I always go with the three B’s.
Beach, Babes and Booze. Hahahahaha
Keep your sprite up.
Haha, thanks man!
Option 4, the 3 B's 😎
I think I would go for nr 1.
Seems like an ok job and leaves you still with enough time to steem.
I assume we think similar and just want to keep our heads above the water till crypto comes back and we can make a living with shitposting or so.
If I am wrong with my assumption I think number 2 is better as it seems a bit more stable and longterm.
The English state pension thing would be something I would take adventage of though regardless of how the chances are if it still will be there.
Thanks man.
Yes we have similar thinking, but I can't wait any longer for STEEM to maybe make a move.
Yeah the pension is probably worth taking a shot at, it would be silly not to get those extra years on board. England now the new favourite :/
and what about a company with a headquarters in the UK close to home BUT with clients in the sunny side of Europe/the earth... that my friend...that would be the hammer.
(for closer solutions, id say get some fiat in a sunny spot even though it might not be the winner of all places)
Yes that would be the hammer, and why I was keen to head back to the UN!
@abh12345, Relax and give room to your Intuition it will guide you towards the right way and path. Hope that your choice brings productive results and peace.

<3 your daughter's place !
I think, that's what I'm going to do :)
She'll be 18 in no time and then I'll never see her so I think you are right, mum :)
Maybe a Crypto Spring will make the decision easier in the coming weeks buddy!
Posted using Partiko iOS
That would be rather nice!
I don't know what the best choice for you is, but I would say no to the Portugal one, at least. The others are debatable. :) Good luck with your plans!
Thank you @phoenixwren, I'll have to decide soon and hope I make a good choice.
Stay in Cala M and plan the next 12 months for your return to England we all have these days but not slot have three options so cheer up take a beer and enjoy life it’s too short !
Blondie
Life is too short, I will think more about it and decide soon. Thanks!
😉
Go with the one that will put a jingle in your pocket and a fire in your heart. If that doesn't work, go for the adventure!
!tip
😁 Tough to find the fire in my heart but the adventure sounds appealing!
Well, I hope you find something that will put one there. Are you sure you are looking in the right places? Perhaps you should step further out of your comfort zone...
You never know what you will find. Then again, there is always the adventure. I mean, who could resist that if all else fails? And don't lose hope, something may pop up any moment now. ;)
As I am approaching retirement my choice may well be totally different from what would be best for you, so I will skip on giving an opinion but rather say, I will instead say you last option sounds the best to me
ie
I say relax for what's left of the weekend, and go with your gut and heart when you need to make the decision
Right on, still a few more days like that ahead too.
Well take your time and as I said trust your gut feelings
Howdy sir Asher! I way the bar job. If the price of steem goes up significantly you won't have to work in a real world job will you? So the bar gig will tide you over until the price of steem goes up later this year. That's my theory. lol. Plus with the bar you won't have to drastically change your lifestyle for now.
Thank for the advice Janton. It would be ideal for STEEM to fly, but at present too risky to rely on that. We will see, a little more time to decide...
RESIST!
If I were in your shoes, I'd be looking to take the local bar job and hoping that BTC's current breakout is going to pull the Altcoins (and Steem) up with it... a LOT can happen in the next 3-4 months. A busy waterfront bar might not pay super well, but should offer the potential for some good connects... you'll be seeing thousands of people.
=^..^=
I've been resisting for a long time, I guess a few more weeks wouldn't hurt 😁
Sounds like you've already decided on option one to me. Maybe go with that and then apply for a job back in the UK from October. I mean it's likely to be crap going back into full time work, so you may as well make it really crap by aiming to head back when the weather turns.
The other option is delaying and holding out 'til after SF4, then starting in the New Year, which could possibly be even worse still.
Lots to look forward to, whatever option you choose!
Thanks :)
UK is topping the list this week, but I might wait until after my mum's 70th. Something needs to give soon though!
UKs nice at this time of year.
It's all gentle breezes russtling in the leaves.
70th is big!
Better keep my mouth shut about my Dad turning 77 soon. It might spark some sort of event horizon.
Option 3 seems to be the wisest choice.
Sailing
:D
Go to Braga 😁👍👌🌟
All of the above jejeje
