"I don't blame those people for leaving. Majority of us here are powerless. Doesn't matter what you say, how you say it, where you put it; yelling at the clouds.
Until the ball finally starts rolling again. Maybe I did make an impact. Maybe some of things you said did matter. Maybe they were listening; instead of talking."
Haha I hope that's the case.
Part of why I stayed was because I saw opportunity in the loss of users. I was new and they made room for me by leaving. If anything, I should thank them for giving me a chance.
"My humor posts lately haven't been performing too well."
I like your humor posts. A ton of people are here trying to be serious all the time and I think we need more comedy.
It's always a battle doing humor here. For one, the internet has grown attached to memes and cat videos. Some people will see humor in the written form and not even realize they're reading humor. Most who know me get it but since it is so serious out there, a new member might see my work and think I'm just trolling or something weird like that. Some view fun as a waste of time. It has happened before. I've straight up been asked why I would write something that's meant to be funny.
Haha yeah. I can see that. Even in person, I run into a lot of people who don't catch super obvious jokes. I imagine that those types lead very boring lives where they only listen to slow jazz for entertainment and give up eating boiled eggs because they're too spicy.
