In African environment and in most cultures, family look up to the man for survival; the children and the woman see him as their lord and master, they depend on him for almost everything. The tittle bread winner is a tittle cherished so much by man of the house, which he guards jealously and will not like to lose it or allow to be taken away from him.
In recent times, this enviable role of winning the bread is being threatened by the exigencies of our time. The economy has pushed out both man and the woman of the house into the streets to look for bread to win to make ends meet.
In some cases, both man and woman get jobs and they are both winning the bread for the house, every morning the man and woman leave, running after and chasing the bread to win. Why? Because both of them now have the same role and tittle the breadwinner.
