RE: Choices...

That it’s the attitude / vibration that makes all the difference to where I’m at at any given point in time, that determines how enjoyable the ride is

Well that's it, IMO! I was wondering where this observation was as I read through your post :D

musings:Well @rok-sivante, here are my observations and some questions that arise in my mind. I'm just dropping them here, that's all - as a contribution to your

  • are you writing for an income or for your self-expression? It seems almost as if the case is the former, but your real desire is for the latter!
  • if self-expression is liberating (as I find it), why the burn-out? If I feel I'm writing for others (responding is different), then it feels heavy and I feel lost. There seems some ambiguity in your position IMO
  • if there is dissatisfaction now, and the root is not identified and dealt with, there will be likely similar dissatisfaction with any other project that one switches to in order to kick-start something else
  • the mind/intellect see choices and thinks it has to decide which is right; the heart can feel the options and know which is right. I think you may have said as much over the course of your writings!
  • the pressure of 'awareness' of a role (your last para), can lead to a shift from expressing self, to expressing role...I think this can contriubute to burnout. The self anyway, when truly expressed, encompasses all roles!

Namaste!

Not a bad assessment.

are you writing for an income or for your self-expression?

Both, and at this point, moreso for the income. Which accounts for the ambiguity you sense in the second point - and the burnout.

And that suits the third point well also - a pattern I found myself in numerous times with DJing, as it also lost the appeal when fully shifted from doing it as a passion to relying on it to (barely) pay bills.

And when the market dips like this, it’s extra tough as the income takes a huge hit - whereas when the SBD flows more abundantly, it takes a lot of the pressure off and better incentivized the unrestricted self-expression.

Quality problems, perhaps.

Hmmm, might it be the case that if one were to let self-expression flow without considerations of income from the self-expression, then not only would self-expression flow, but an income will also be generated. It seems clear that appeal would likely get lost when there is a sense of obligation and it being a chore.

Not sure that I agree with the notion of quality problems, although that is for you to say! Is it not more to do with free-flow and what corrupts free-flow?

And, since, we're having this conversation, are you actually reliant on steemit for an income? I mean do you not already have enough (abundance think)? Are you wanting to accumulate for a rainy day (scarcity think)? - these are rhetorical Qs, I'm not doing anything other than continuing these 'musings'!
