What our minds get up to while we are asleep ~ Belief Dreams

Belief Dreams

In my previous post I looked a bit into what lucid dreams are, today I would like to take a peek into a different type of dreaming ~ Belief Dreams.
Now in all honesty I can’t be sure that I have personally had one of these. A belief dream can be described as the type of dream that you wake up from with a strong sense newly found belief or sense of direction with a burning desire to follow a certain path.

These dreams have been documented throughout history and have played a part in shaping religions and belief systems across the planet. This can be seen in the dream Jacob had of the angels of angels documented in the Bible, or even Mohammed’s dream inspiring his spiritual mission in the Quran.

The Australian Aboriginals as well as various other cultures believe very strongly in the power of such dreaming and subsequently, this has led to the interpretation and analyzation of dreams to be put into place at the core of humanity’s existence.

This is definitely one of your less common types of dreaming, but certainly one of the most powerful.

Are you familiar with Astral Projection? It's similar to Lucid dreaming, but you are able to travel to wherever your mind puts you.

yes I am, have you been able to master the skill?

Not fully, but I'm working on it😊

I've had a few lucid dreams during meditation retreats. What's really weird, I don't remember dreaming in daily life. I am one of those people who do not remember their dreams.

It was peobably because you were in a optimum mental state of non destraction. I don't always remember mine but I do try to make a point to, they tend to give me great insight into my own self and surroundings.

I used to have horrible night terrors from 5-30 years old. After I did a bunch of meditation retreats no more dreams or night terrors...so I dunno, bit what you say sounds right.

I am just happy for you that they ended. Maybe it was something that you managed to make peace with during your retreats...

:) I am glad to say I have had one of these. It's changed my entire life.

Oh I pray do tell

Oddly enough, I had to dig this one up last night for someone else as we were discussing "near death experiences." The last one is the one that changed everything:
