Yeah it does feel like pavement. If the water is unbroken you pretty much need to land on your feet. That is the safest way in. I recommend wearing shoes. Chase Reinford doesn't wear shoes even on the big jumps which really surprises me. There are a lot of things that could go wrong. I saw a guy who jumped off an 80 footer get slightly hurt and he said when he hit the water it made his legs to the splits. He was able to walk but it sort of hurt him.
