Oh that wedding...

in #life7 years ago

I am starting to feel a little bit out, all my friends and family are getting married... and I don't even have a girlfriend... but I am in no rush to get married, I am not even 20 yet!

Well here is the background story. The bride and I have know each other for many years, since we were babies. When it came to pre-primary school, she was that girl I hated the most. I hated most girls as they were evil disgusting creatures that told nothing but lies and were no fun at all.

She knew my parents and loved getting me into trouble by telling them all the naughty things I did at school. As far as naughty goes, well I was the definition of "mischievously naughty". But don't get me wrong she was no saint, but know one believed me. I tried so hard to get her into trouble, but it was all in vain.

The years past and we got over the constant hating and manipulating, we then became really good friends. I opened the adoption board for adopting me, so I became her "sister" and she became my "brother."We both loved to tease and this was one of the many ways we teased each other.

So now the big question is... Did I give them my blessing? Well yes, they ARE going to NEED it! She has only ever dated one guy and now she is marrying that guy, which came as a shocker to me, but hey what could I do about it.

The wedding was a blast, they looked happy, everyone was happy, then you looked at her dad... It was like he was losing her forever to some illness, I found this to be quite amusing, which, of course is a bad thing. I must be such a horrible person to take to weddings, but hey I think I am the one having the most fun there.

My brother ended up getting a huge "mouth full" from the girl sitting in front of us; my brother comments a lot and it annoys people. This was happening while the groom was making everyone cry with his lovely story. Only real men cry, so I feel a little better that she chose a real man to marry.

Obviously the food was to die for and I had some lovely old people tell me, "this is to die for, and you're next son." In the back of my mind I was thinking (you can only imagine that this was not good). A smile popped up on my face as I thought silently in my head, "well yes you are dying for the food; I can't wait for the next funeral, where I will be saying the exact same words to you!" Oh boy I am not such a nice person, but hey evil sense of humour is fun, and I am really enjoying myself.

So for all those of you who don't know, the father is very protective over his daughters. I even got dirty looks when I was dancing with the brides younger sister... I felt like I was burning inside as he gazed straight into my eyes. When I shook his hand to say good bye, my hand was crushed.

The wedding was amazing and I wish a happy life for my sisie. She deserves a good life.

Just on a little side note for self improvement. I will be doing pushups, situps and squats for the amount of $$$ (ratio;$1:1) I earn on this post and will give a short feedback every day at the end of each post. This will be split in equally between all 3. Any not done will carry onto the next day.

Resteemed this is pure gold, thanks for sharing

yeah me too Resteemed, due his best content !

Great story!! Dont rush it. I got married at 24, was married for 8 years and ended up divorced and alone with my two month old baby because my douche ex was busy having an affair with one of my clients... however... am far happier now and love my wonderfully uncomplicated life. I have a new man of 5 yrs now bit we don't want to complicate things with a piece of paper. 👌😎😁🤗

Wow thank you. I come from a divorced family and I don't ever want that so I am going to take your advice and not rush anything. Thank you for sharing your story. I did not know you were from the same country as me.

hahaha!!! neither did i :) Small world lol :D

I will be doing pushups, situps and squats for the amount of $$$ (ratio;$1:1)

At this rate, given the earnings of your post, you will be doing so much exercise, that you either will get an hernia, or become The Hulk! :)

It seems a nice post, good work

Nice narrative on the wedding event and the growing up. Please don't think of marriage when your not yet ready for it, my suggestion to you is to marry steemit for now, have fun hahaha. Wishing her happy married life. Good one.

Then when shall my wedding be with steemit?

Don't worry, the date will be fix when you have made enough money.

@dragonslayer109 It's not bad bro. I don't have any girlfriend either! When you have a girlfriend, you'll be forced to fulfill her wishes! Live your life man, and get married once and for all! ;)

Wishing your sisie a good life :)

This is so true. I lived with my now wife for 12 years before getting married. I had to make sure. Oops...correction - We both had to be sure ;-)

Wow amazing and very interesting.

Great post, Congrats to your sister for tieing the knot... and as for you, I am sure that life is just saving the best girl for last!

Oh...what an amazing love story.....thanks for making my day...

A wedding story with a twist, that's what I was expecting when I initially read the heading of the post; or at least that's what my evil side wanted it to turn out to be😈. A story where the wedding ends up in a chaos and rest everything around it goes haywire😬..

Is it just me or everyone is sensing that my evil side here has suddenly gone through the roof😛...

For the moment, let's keep the kidding bit aside and talk about the post... Your humor touch with funeral thing and "you are next" was hilarious. So was the dancing bit with the sister while father gives wild looks...
All in all a good read to say the least. 👍✍️

I really enjoyed writing this post as I was passionate about it. I am glad you could feel and experience my passion in my writing.

Amazing blog man, I enjoyed reading about it! :D

Super ))))!!!

You're not even 20??? I got my first real gf at 26 and got married at 30 :D Got kids at 33. Life is so bloody long man. Don't rush it is my best advice. Have patience and just keep hustlin'. I didn't aquire that mindset until late 20's. And I can't believe where I am today compared to even 5 years ago. Patience. :)

Great read! Good luck with the pushups!

Hahaha thank you for your great advice, and yes I am 20 on the 12th of July

This was really really fun to read, but I hate u for scaring the shit out of me. I'm 20 years old now and soon I will be next, as the old people say D: Definitely not looking forward to giving up my freedom :D

Hope u will find a good one for yourself u can spend the rest of your life with soon!

U get my upvote and I will resteem this to help u build some extra muscle ;)

Hahaha sorry for scaring you. Lol freedom is so nice right now, even a relationship can restrict your freedom. I am going to be huge in a few months time at this rate.

Unfortunately in my family marriage is a must. Sooner or later I will lose my freedom to a woman D:

I am starting to feel a little bit out, all my friends and family are getting married... and I don't even have a girlfriend...

same here, i know how you feel

hahaha lovely gif

I'm 39 and I am also in no rush to get married!

Mmmm yeah I still have many years ahead of me :)

I recently read a book about a marriage in the old days. And a little horrified. What then was the norm now seems wild. I want to share with you my impressions of the book and tell you how it was before.

Marriage, when a husband and wife love each other, and their rights and duties are equal, today seems to be the norm .. But a couple of centuries ago, women could not even dream about it, they had no rights at all. All that women were allowed to do was work in the household.

The whole life of a woman was reduced to managing this economy. In fact, a woman often did not even have time to go out.

Over the centuries, husbands disposed of their wives as their own property: they could easily lock them to the castle or live with the light, accusing them of treason or theft.

If it is a question of treason, say, commoners, then they could just hang it up, like stealing an apple, say, in the main square or on the outskirts of the city.

NOW PRESENT HOW WELCOME THEMSELVES OF A WOMAN AT THEN TIME.

Well I am really glad that things have changed

Beautiful ! Enjoyed your post !!

enjoyed it :-D

Great post! Take your time and then only get married. Dont be hurry. Marriage is not a joke, you have to be mentally as well as physically ready. Followed you and do follow me too @bindu. Would love to connect with people like you

Well for being such a nice person I will follow you back :)

haha this is nice. :)

Good work!

Weddings are such a positive and uplifting event! Thanks for sharing. Followed!

I've felt like this for a long time. I've always done things on my own terms and I've fallen out with friends because we don't relate as adults... Indoctrination doesnt work for everyone. Staying outside the box has always kept me content.

Why on earth get married and make one woman unhappy when there are so many women to make happy?? Is a conundrum I tell you.

Well there is more women than men in the world.

As I say .... all the more reason to NOT get married {wide grin}

Weddings are fun but definitely interesting events. Glad everyone had a good time

You are at least married to your self. That should be something in life. Just wait and be happy. (Marriage shouldn´t be the best day in your life. There are too many before and after) :-)

I have to agree with you there. Love the gif, I think it is a sign that they should not get married. Hope he didn't lose the ring.

I just think dont get married by heart only. At least nowadays.

This is such a great read...
I am in stitches reading this :)

Hahaha thank you :)

HAHAHA! Those memes are the best xD Keep up the awesome content brother! I also posted my latest post around the same time :) Cheers for now :)

Don't be in rush! You are still very young!

Dont worry about being single, man. I am 35 years old, and I continue being single. :)

Wow u r only 20 and been through all this?

LOL that meme about the old peeps in the funeral had me cracking up. I'm still in my 20's and I think marriage is a thing I'll think about in my 30's. To much to do in so little time. Do a pushup for me :)

I think that it is so important decision in everyone's life that it shouldn't be rushed.
