What distinguishes a decent firework show from a spectacular one?
Well some would say it's the grand finale, while others would insist it's how long the display is put on- I say it's a show that is essentially one looonggg finale- and I haven't seen one like it in years until last night!
There were easily a couple thousand people huddled in the field behind the winery, and somehow we managed to not only find a parking spot in close walking distance (cars were lined up for nearly two miles on both sides of the road) but also picked the perfect place to set up our chairs- the stars were aligned for us, and the wine was fine for...well me- as you may notice from my slight slur in this last video :)
If you are ever in this region of NY on fourth of July, keep this in mind, it's a yearly event!

It reminded me of this fabulous work.
O that looks fun, they really did it up right with the wine proceeds, a fabulous display. Looks very expensive! I couldn't really hear the slurring, but it's to be expected at a wine fireworks show.
Haha, well I'm glad it wasn't as noticeable to others as it was to me! It was super fun, in fact I would say an excellent time to visit us in the finger lakes, plenty of things to do!
I was thinking something similar, July in NY, perhaps... but maybe sooner!
Sooner is good too!
Really nice to hear your voice! I bet those brownies turned out good ;)
Ditto brother! Actually after I helped Ethan with them, Zoe took over, set a timer....then ended up in my room with me and Ethan, talking (while Howie chatted with you actually lol)...and we didn't hear the timer. Luckily it dawned on her in time for them not to burn, but they were a bit dry...which fortunately ceased to matter once scoops of ice cream were put on them to melt haha! So in the end, they did turn out good :)
Next time I call, I'm not letting you off the phone so easily! There was much more I wanted to talk about, though I may not have remembered them anyway. I'll call again soon.
No slurring! It was in your head. A fine display. In the first vid someone nearby is like wow inspiring! - near the end. I dont know why but it made me giggle!
What?! How did I miss both you and Paul's comment when I looked yesterday? That is bizarre, haha.
Oh, it was in my head alright, glad it's only noticeable to me lol! Ha, yes the wow-er made me giggle too, but I really laughed at the little kid in the last one who said "It's never going to end". hee!
It was an impressive display! Hehe, I always like hearing you in your videos ;0)
It has been a very long time since I have seen a truly "spectacular" fireworks display in person. Comes with living in a smaller town, and not going anywhere, very often.
Normally, the biggest wow-factor for me is when whomever put on the show were able to use some of those giant "double shells" that blow and become a cascade, and then there's a secondary effect that's completely different. Those are the big shells that are 10-12" in diameter and cost $500+ EACH... yikes. But spectacular, to be sure!
I also live in a smaller town, but the sheer amount of wineries and breweries that have popped up all around us has changed the pace of life a little around here, tourism has grown exponentially- there are of course downsides to this, but one of the upsides is a spectacular fireworks show, haha!
I can't even imagine what they spent on that, but considering how many people were there buying wine, they probably made out okay :)
For a second there I thought the wine bottle and glass was lit up in the sky!! Not taking into account the environmental implications (heh!), it was a fantastic display! I'm a sucker for the slow-burning ones, I don't know why haha!
Event venue must be pretty amazing with the excitement of a colorful fireworks in the sky that night @dreemit, the black when
Hopefully, the event took place smoothly and be successful
Definitely amazing :)
