I seem to be spending a lot of time at the moment imaging a better life. One where I don't have to work quite so much, and can happily spend more time writing words and music and music with words.
But every now and again I'm reminded of how good my life is. Right here. Right now.
And it's worth remembering that - probably more often than I do. So many aspects of my life are perfect, or close to. My family. Our community. Our new puppy. My job. My colleagues. My friends.
Sure, I wish I didn't have to work five days a week to pay off our mortgage. I wish my band-mates lived much (much) closer to Brisbane than they do, and that we could actually perform every now and again. And I wish our new puppy didn't have such a talent for finding and chewing Ms 9's favourite toys.
Among other things.
But you know what? On balance, my life is pretty good.
And it is certainly worth remembering that, every now and again, as I dream of what could be.
I hope your life is pretty good too.

I definitely agree with you! It reminds me of a Tweet I just saw from John Maxwell, in which he said: ' "Who you are is who you attract." If you're someone who sees nothing but problems, guess what you get in life: more problems. If you see nothing but possibilities, guess what: you receive more possibilities.'
It is much better, just like you write, to be thankful for what we have, and that will make us appreciate every single moment of the day better.
Instead of complaining when my kids wake up at 5.30 in the morning, I could be thankful for the beautiful kids I have. I know several people without kids who would do anything to have someone to wake them up at 5.30 in the morning!
What great sentiments this morning :) Good luck, friend.
Great mindset. With an attitude like this, you'll continue to do well.
It’s always worth taking a moment to be grateful for what we have. Beats worrying about what we don’t have!
