This is a reasonable analysis of what is happening now regarding the Basic Income project being run in Finland. It isn't just rich people who have a problem with this. From my experience people who don't understand how something will help them are most vocal at arguing against it.
The issue of basic income is good for some reasons, I consider it good but I don't know much about economics.
I've been doing research and it is said to have certain benefits for people with low incomes such as:
But for basic income there are also unfavourable things such as:
I really think it would be good but bad is something that can be measured but with some control.
Greetings friend.
In all the studies conducted on a basic income has proved that people do not stop working unless it was to improve their education (not dropping out of school) or to spend more time with children (in areas without a maternity leave).
Inflation is a problem when countries are at full employment. Businesses need to compete against other businesses to get employees. The inflation that happened in Venezuela is more likely where corruption in the government caused them to print more money but giving this money to a select few. These few people would then exchange that money for USD or other currencies. Then when the average person buying foreign goods would have to pay more because other countries would have a lower value of their currency. Some time I will create a post that explains these things in detail.
In Venezuela, money is sold, ordinary people have more money in physical terms than the banks themselves, you can see that a lot on the border with Colombia Venezuela.
This subject is very devastating, since 1 $ costs around 900,000 Bs and a monthly salary is 1,000,000 Bs. Things are very expensive, for example, a soap for clothes costs 7,000,000 Bs, so many people are forced to emigrate to another country to seek a better future and help people who cannot leave Venezuela.
I'm waiting for your post explaining more about it.
Greetings friend
I think it's a very interesting subject, let's hope he gets along well in that country.
