8 Weeks Until I Get Married...What I'm doing to lose weight

My Wedding Weight Loss Journey

So my big day is fast approaching. I'm getting married to the love of my life on September 3rd and I have to say I'm getting a bit nervous. One of the things all grooms have to do is purchase a beautiful suit for the special occasion and I did just that.

The suit is bespoke and the fabric is just amazing. The problem with a custom made suit is that it's custom made!!!

I'm currently about 10 pounds over weight. When the tailor measured me up I insisted he go much slimmer than my current body measurements. The catch is that the suit will be ready about a week before my wedding so I have no choice but to get my butt on a healthy plan and stick with it for 8 weeks.

I thought I'd share what I'm doing to lose the weight I have to lose in order to fit into my awesome new suit...

1. Intermittent Fasting

For those that don't know what Intermittent Fasting is I'll give you a quick breakdown.

Intermittent Fasting IS NOT a diet!!! Intermittent fasting is simply a pattern of eating. The goal is to eat all of your daily calories in a short window of time. I am having two meals a day for 5 days per week.

The first meal is a healthy shake comprised of protein powder, almonds, egg whites, flax seeds, rolled oats and berries. The second meal is a healthy dinner with equal amounts of carbs, fats and protein.

I eat only between the hours of 3pm and 8pm (shake first then dinner) and that's it. By doing this I am fasting for 19 hours between dinner and the next days shake. You may not know this but your body sheds fat more in a "fasted" state than in a "fed" state. I have done this before and my results were incredible. I pretty much eat what I want in my 5 hours and I never feel hungry believe it or not.

2. Juicing

Who doesn't love a huge glass of tasty fresh juice? Two days a week I am only having 3 huge mason jars of juice. I went out and got a great juicer. Juicing helps give me all the nutrients and vitamins I need and because I am having a ton of it I actually don't feel hungry during juicing days.

Here's a vid of me juicing my brains out...

3. Bone Broth

Oh yes it's true - chicken soup heals all. Every Sunday I am making a weeks worth of bone broth (primarily chicken). I have 2 glasses everyday. It's way more affordable to make the broth on your on rather than buying it in a store, plus, you get to control what you put in it.

7 Benefits Of Bone Broth...

  • Heal and seal your gut;
  • Protect your joints;
  • Look younger;
  • Sleep better, and feel better;
  • Immune support;
  • Stronger bones;
  • More energy

All of these benefits are really helpful for anyone going through the stressful preparation and planning period leading up to a wedding not to mention my reduced calorie intake.

4. Walking My Dog

So there you have it. I would love to lose between 10 and 15 pounds before the fitting of my suit. I promise to keep you all posted on my progress if you're interested. Do yourself a favour a try a few of these out to see for yourself.

Thanks for you time!!!

Sounds like a great approach, although I would recommend a smoothie rather than juice. Taking in so much fruit without the fiber with a juicer like that will wipe out all the benefits of the rest of the diet.
I've found I can eat as much as I like of almost whatever I want if I eat it all within an 8 hour window and stay leaner than ever.
Good luck!

Hi,

Thanks for the comment. I do very little fruit in my juice...like 90% fibre veggies and maybe 10% fruit.

you are sure to succeed!

IF and juice fasting be carful dude for me it seems like and somewhat of a bad ide to fast and then juice. Blood sugar levels will probably roller coaster alot.
