It’s no secret that my choise of poison is gin, and I consume it often with tonic water. My stash was running very low so I popped by at the liquer store to get a couple bottles, both of which are new to me. I don’t know why but gin bottles are almost always very very pretty and I like pretty things.
I usually stray away from anything that is ”in fashion”, and gin has been so very stylish in the past few years, but it’s too good for even me to fight against. The good thing with it being so hip and cool, is that the liquer stores stock a very nice variety of gin and new ones come out all the time.
I decided to go for the Gunpowder gin today and oh looorrrd it’s good! I never drink gin neat because I’m a baby, but with Fever-tree tonic and a slice of lime, I’m a happy camper!
I love my Gin as well. I need to get a little more adventurous and try some other makes. They both look really good.
What is your go-to gin?
Bombay Sapphire normally. I stayed in a hotel in London two years ago and they had a specialty bar called "The Gin Palace". I had to dodge it as I could spend all night in there.
I have a feeling I don’t like it but can’t remember when I havw tasted it.
Have you tried Gin and Tonic with a slice of cucumber?
It's surprisingly tasty.
I have, it’s very good, thanks for reminding me of it!
Have you tried Hendrick's Gin?
I find it a little pricey, but I like the flavour profile.
If you are every flying international through Heathrow, you can always get samples of free gin at the duty free shop. Many times, I've got pickled there before boarding my morning flight back to Canada. :-P
Of course, it's like the most basic gin, and I must admit, not my favourite, would never buy it for myself, but will drink if offered somewhere and no better choices are available.
Hahaha I know! I sampled a few gins last time I was flying back to Finland from London, and it was a morning flight :D
Good choices.

For me it's whiskey, and it's something that I don't just enjoy for the taste but for what it represents. It's the drink of powerful, successful and in control people, and that is something I'd like to be and this allows me to portray that image to other people when they see me drinking it. Never had Gin tho. I think I'd like it because I prefer strong drinks like whiskey and tequila over wine and beer ( Champagne is an exception).
