Are you a busy person/mom like me or just too lazy going to the gym? I myself am very busy with the kids, the house, cooking for my family and posting on Steemit. Most of my posts take more than hours to design something before I can start posting it. When the kids are at school, I do chores in the house and then I start designing something on Fusion 360 and in the evening after the kids are in bed I start making the post. Nowadays I go to bed around 11 PM, so I am too tired to exercise. If I would have a membership I would not even have time or the motivation to go to the gym.
So the reason I want to exercise again is because I want to stay healthy, be a fit mama and also want to get rid of BAD FAT! Did you know about the term: Skinny fat? I think that's me! Skinny people who have bad fat. Not that I feel skinny, not at all. I do believe I am skinny fat because my BMI is normal but I do eat a lot of candies, chocolate and cookies. I just love everything that contains sugar! Luckily I am blessed with strong teeth! My father has strong teeth too. Even though my teeth are not white and I have gaps, I have no teeth problem and never had. Once I went to the dentist after 5 years no visiting.......The dentist looked at me angry knowing that I didn't show up for 5 years, asking me if I have tooth ache the last 5 years? I said no. He checked and was very surprised I don't have bad teeth after 5 years not visiting the dentist. I am almost 35 and until now no teeth problem. My last visit was...last year and the dentist looked and said everything is fine. If I wouldn't have strong teeth I would wear dentures for many years already!
There are many exercises that you can do from home without paying a membership that you probably not making use of. Can it be as effective as going to the gym? Yes,it can! There are of course some fitness equipment that would be very handy to have but they are all a lifetime investment and doesn't cost much. Now it sounds like I am very fit, but I am not :-(. Not yet! I hope in 2018 I will start exercising again because it is very important to stay fit. It is not only for weight loss but for staying healthy as well. Three years ago I was more fit as I could do easily 300 leg raises without a break ;-).
Rope skipping
Rope skipping is a very hardcore cardio workout. Mostly because you have to jump all the time, so you burn hundreds of calories/bad fat. The muscles you are using during this workout are your leg muscles, calves. I couldn't walk properly the first few days after this workout. The best rope is not the one from your daughter :-D but one which is made of coated thin wire. You can also use a heavier rope, like a leather one, but the heavier the rope, the harder the circles you need to make. Jumping with a rope made of thin wire, you can jump more and faster. A jump rope like mine can cost you just a few dollars. Mine costed 5 euros.
Imaginary rope skipping
I get often tangled when I jump rope, So what I like to do is jumping rope without a rope. So you make the same movement but without a rope. You don't have to buy a rope and you can rope skipping without a rope anywhere you want. I jump around 100 x in 1 minute. For best result, I have to jump 30 sets of 100 reps. I can also try to jump 2 minutes, so 200 reps and take a 30 sec. break and to this set 15 times.
Ab wheel
This is such a great invention! This costed me also around 5 euros. I remember I bought this online but I could buy this at the same shop I bought the jumping rope. I f you live in the Netherlands, and you like to buy these, you can go to Tiger, it's a fun (Denmark) shop. The real Ab wheel costs may be more than the imitation/replica :-). Using an Ab Wheel in your exercise can be a very intensive workout.
It trains so many muscles, especially your back and chest. I don't use the ab wheel like the picture above, because that's just impossible. On the picture the man is also not using any knee protection or pillow. So what I do is, I tuck my toes under the couch or heater and use a pillow under my knees because it can hurt. You can also use a fitness mat and double fold it under your knees. When you move to the front holding the ab wheel, make sure you don't move your arms first, but your body. Your arms should follow automatic without force. When you moved your body all the way to the front, then you can move your arms further than your body. Make sure your back is straight. If you do this workout, you will have back, chest and arm pain the first couple of days, if you never trained these muscles before. But it is good pain. It means you did your workout good.
Swiss ball V- Up
Ok, this picture above doesn't show me doing any exercise :-D. I realise that this ball is a bit too big for me. A Swiss ball comes in different sizes. This one is 65 cm( diameter) and I need a 55 cm. It has to do with your body length.
In the past, when I was active working out, I liked to do the ball V-up. You just pass the ball to your feet. The muscles you use are your abs.
There are also other exercises I like to do like leg raises and cross crunches. I really have to get motivated again. Maybe my birthday, which will be in April, is a good motivation. I also would like to know how to stop liking sugar, but there is just no pill against sugar cravings.

:-D hahahahaa I like the invisible rope gif! Thanks for reminding me to make more sport... buh.
hehehe, yeah, its quite funny. I know, the motivation is not there, maybe because its winter. It will come as soon spring is there.
No need to visit gym as we can do this at home time to make new year resolutions
@fathin-shihab thank you for the inspiration here. I too have been so focused on work and not exercising enough. I'll typically do a few yoga moves right when I wake up to strengthen my back (cat-cow is my favorite), but I've been definitely been slacking in the work out dept.
I'm a huge fan of working out from home without needing any heavy duty equipment. Your suggestions here are really great. I definitely need an ab wheel and ball! The ball is actually really great for sitting and working on as when you sit and write/work it helps to stimulate and strengthen you neurologically as you unconsciously balance yourself while simultaneously moving your mind!
The cat-cow movement is very good for lower back pain. especially when you sit many hours in front of the pc.
As a personal trainer I love seeing people taking control of their health and MAKING time for exercise and using what they have available. I specialize in home, no equipment workouts and I agree with you 100% that you don't need a bunch of fancy equipment to get a good workout.
Thanks for the post!
Yes, we don't need fancy heavy equipment. Thanks for reading :-)
it might be the baggy pants, but you kind of look like aaliyah in the last photo
Oh, I never thought about it :-). Thanks! It's sad she passed away, I wonder what music she would be making right now if she still would be alive.
A lil tip if you wanna burn weight easy, start drinking green tea everyday. It boosts your metabolism
Thanks for the tip! I drink very often tea, but with honey and sugar. :-( I will try green tea without any sugar then.
