Yes, you could say I'm addicted to this place :) It's extremely cheap compared to California where I was. I pay about $300 for monthly rent and about $30 a week on everything else. I live out in a Thai neighborhood and don't do tourist stuff or drink so that cuts my costs a lot.
Then every 60 or 90 days here I need to leave the country and come back in, so that trip is 200-300 each time.
The advice I give for traveling is:
- pick your dates and a few locations
- research visa issues and the costs for your locations and pick one
- Make a budget with some extra money in it
- get your passport
- buy plane tickets - usually 2-6 months out is the best price
- make hotel reservations
That's it! After the first time - you will be a pro :)
That was such a Lady-Boss answer! Thank you very much my friend! :)
I feel 100% more confident about my traveling ambitions right now!
I'm still not 100% sure what to include in the budget though..
Thank you! What a boost :)
You first need to find the place(s) you want to go and then look at budget. Every place in the world has cheap/expensive ways to go. I am cheap, so I can help you there :)
Here in Bangkok, you can find places for much, much more than I pay and also much, much less. The high end condos are $1000 a month +++.
I know a guy here paying only $80/month inclusive for a place he loves near the airport. He travels for his work and just wanted a quiet place that did not cost a lot of time and money to get to his frequent flights. No one wants to live near the airport, so he lucked out.
