Hello my fellow Steemians! :D
We woke up this morning to a winter wonderland, from all the snow yesterday and last night, which was very pretty to look at, but not so fun to slog through and shovel again. :D Thankfully my wonderful husband and son gave me the day off from barn chores and shoveling to give my body a chance to recover from yesterday. :D I felt bad watching them do all the work, but my body appreciated them giving me the day off though. :D
All I’ve got to do today is relax, take some pictures to put in todays post (like this one of Dakota staring at the muffin in my hand), get supper prepped, cooked, and served. :D I think I can handle that. :D
The paths that we shoveled the other day are buried again and my poor son had to shovel them all over again this morning. As you can see the cars are almost completely buried, that’s a lot of snow to shovel out of the way again.
There is so much snow to shovel, its going to be a long day for my husband and our son @jackalwolf56, working his way back over to the barn, the good news is he’s almost there now.
Its now time for working on our vehicle parking situation with my husband. My poor husband and son will be sore tonight from all the snow shoveling. All the parts stores are closed today of course so the hose will have to wait until tomorrow. Hopefully one of them will have the matching hydraulic hose and we’ll be able to get it back on, hooked up and running again tomorrow. :D
One of our handsome grand-puppies Shadow is enjoying some quality “hanging with grandma” time today. :D
Princess pulled some of the hay out of the girls’ feeder and went off to the side to enjoy it all alone. :D
Princess (left) and Belle (right) both peeking out from behind the trailer. :D
Candy was trying to sneak back into the barn, so she could knock the lid off the oats bin and have a treat, but my husband came out to get the wheelbarrow and her master plan was thwarted. :D LOL. :D
My husband went back inside with the wheelbarrow and a few minutes later Candy tried again to sneak inside. :D LOL. :D
My husband @timmyoflinn emptying the wheelbarrow in snow above his knees and he’s 6’2” tall, that’s some deep snow.
Its Belle’s turn to try to sneak back inside the barn for some extra oats. :D If my husband wasn’t inside the barn she might actually get away with it but he’s inside so she’s not going to get far. :D
I’m impressed she got that far inside, my husband had to have been in the back with the piglets for her to get that far inside. :D
My husband must have either yelled at Belle (left) to get back outside or he’s coming her way because she’s backed herself out of the barn. :D Princess (right) is heading over to see if she has any better luck than her sisters did. :D
Apparently, I was wrong my husband wasn’t coming towards our pretty Belle or yelling at her, it was our son coming out of the barn that scared Belle away. :D LOL. :D
Karma taking a nap in my husband’s spot on the couch this afternoon. :D
Our handsome boys Shadow (background) and Tiny (foreground) playing with their giant Kong toy. They can barely grab onto it because its so big and its hilarious to see the smaller grand-puppies like Tiny and Mya walking around with it in their mouths. :D
The girls hanging around their feeder and keeping an eye on my husband and son. LOL. :D
Look who’s unstuck and back in his parking spot, finally. :D Now we just need to clear the driveway enough that he can get out for work in the morning and maybe to head to town for some gas and hydraulic fluid in preparation for tomorrow. :D
Our lovely ladies Princess, Candy, and Belle waiting to get back into the barn. :D
One of our handsome boys Buddy enjoying his afternoon in his private room. :D
Our other handsome boy Joker posing for me when I went to say hello this afternoon, just before the girls were let back inside. :D
Our little lads Pinky (left background) and Junior (right background) still hiding behind our little lass Lil’ Miss. She is definitely the boss and head guardian of this group. :D
Lil’ Miss (left), Junior (center) and Pinky (right) coming over to say hello. :D
Our pretty Princess looks like a linebacker whenever I take her picture from this angle, LOL. :D
We finally got enough of the snow shoveled out of the driveway to get my husband out of it. Now we’ve got to get into town, get him some gas and pick up the hydraulic fluid for tomorrow. :D
All these trees are being weighed down by the snow we got yesterday, I think they are very pretty to look at like this, but I’d hate to walk near them when the snow starts to fall off the branches. :D
My husband parked his truck at the top of our driveway and is throwing more dirt/sand/salt down to ensure he can get back out of the driveway for work and to get that hose in the morning. :D
We are having a beef roast for supper and it smells so good in the house right now. Only 25 minutes more until supper will be ready. :D In about 20 minutes I’ll go get the last minute things ready, the gravy mix, the vegetables, etc… Its going to be delicious! :D Once I’ve got a picture to include in this post then I can actually put it on my blog. :D
I almost forgot to take a picture of my delicious supper, but here it is. :D
Its started snowing again, oh joy. :D The puppies and grand-puppies were too busy watching my husband clean the meat off one of the bones from our roast to care about playing in the snow. :D
There wasn’t any sunshine today so again no sunrise or sunset photos to share tonight, sorry.
Well that was our day here. How is/was yours? I hope you have/had an awesome day! :D

I have some choice word for friends and family that were complaining last year that they missed "old fashioned winters". Thank you for sharing so many nice pictures of your family and especially your fur-babies. You guys need a snowplow or snowblower. Right now, I'm thinking of some groundhog stew for the one that shadow his shadow.
Thank you for taking the time to visit, read my post and make a comment. :D
I know right, "old fashioned winters" are basically every winter in Canada, loads of snow everywhere you go, except British Columbia, well parts of BC anyway. :D LOL. :D
You're welcome, its my pleasure to share pictures of our homestead clan. :D I'm so happy you like them. :D Our plow broke a hose and couldn't be used without it. Thankfully my husband texted me that he picked one up today. :D
I bet your puppy loves groundhog stew, mine would probably all love it too, but I've never made that before. :D
Tonight I'm making macaroni beef casserole for our supper. I'll have to go start it soon.
God bless you. :D Have an awesome day! :D
I'm so glad to hear you have a plow. I wasn't sure if you were doing everything sort of Amish style in your homesteading, although I noticed you had a truck and not a horse and buggy :). I have great admiration for those that can do that, but sometimes I wish they would let technology help a little.
I was never able to capture the groundhog that was living under my porch unfortunately. My kitties would probably turn their nose up anyway. Try seem to enjoy only the most costly cat food I can afford. It's a good thing the BF and I like food off the dollar menu at McDonalds so we can afford the best for the kitties :)
Oh my land no, the only time we do things without electricity is if a tree falls on the power lines or the freezing rain ice build up breaks the power lines. :D We'd like to eventually be off grid but still want to have power. :D
Yes I agree, you have to be very strong in spirit and body to be able to live without electricity and modern conveniences. Of course people that live like the Amish will be better off when the economy crashes so God bless them for being so prepared. :D
One of our grand-puppies Mya is a great catcher of mice, moles, etc...if she see's it and catches it they don't have a chance at all, poor things, but she's so happy when she catches something. :D LOL. We spend a lot on food for our puppies, grand-puppies, chickens, cows and piglets, so we're not swimming in cash either but we haven't been to McDonalds in a long time. We'd rather save up for a special evening out or go to A&W once in a while instead. :D I hear you though, we sacrifice a lot for our furry family members sometimes but the love they give in return makes it worth it. :D
God bless you and your family (two and four-legged). :D Have an awesome day my friend! :D
i bet it's so cold in there my friend , how's rhe piggies, how's pinky ? hehe , stay warm dear frosty , much love from me 😘❤️❤️❤️
Actually the temperatures have been quite mild compared to what they usually are this time of year, its just the snow and freezing rain making this season frustrating and hard on the old body. :D LOL. :D
Pinky, Junior and Lil' Miss are all doing great. I got to pet each of them for a few seconds this morning. :D
We will do our best and if the temperatures stay like they've been (they won't, but if they did) it wouldn't be a bad winter all in all. :D Sending lots of hugs and love and positive vibes to you and your little ones. :D
God bless you all. :D Have an awesome day! :D
That is a lot of snow. Great pics
Welcome back! :D
Yes it is, way too much snow. I think Mother Nature is ticked off at us about something, I'm just not sure what or I'd rectify it so she could stop with the snow. :D LOL. :D Thank you very much. :D I'm so glad you like them. :D (I won't tell you how many I take each day just to be sure I get a few that aren't blurry, but I'll say its way more than it should be, LOL. :D)
God bless you and your fantastic family. :D Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! :D
Ohhh my that's a lot of snow... cute pets you have I love animals... keep safe @frostyamber 😘
Thank you for visiting, reading my post and making a comment. :D
Yes it is a lot, way too much in my opinion. :D
We think they're pretty cute too and they know we think they're cute, the little boogers. :D LOL. :D
Thanks, we've got freezing rain coming down right now so I'll be staying safe inside for the night. :D Stay safe as well @avhyaceulip. :D
God bless you my friend. :D Have an awesome day! :D
