Great post and thanks for doing this. My question is: Do you find that certain parts of the U.S is more forgiving to the LGBT community, then other parts ? Not sure if my question makes total sense. Let me know!

This makes total sense, yes, where I grew up I would have never started my transition, I received lots of threats and catcalls on the sidewalk already. Where I am in St. Louis currently is very nice and accepting, I've never felt out of place here in this city, whereas if I drove an hour away to another part of the state, I would be sure to have a knife on me for protection.
