I gotta say I absolutely adore this show! Just finished binging it a day or two ago. Not only is the trio of the main characters done great, what I love more about it is the recurring side characters and their interactions with our heroes. When I first realized everyone will think the demon is a talking cat and dismiss him as being just that, it made me smirk and giggle every time someone interacted with him for a couple of episodes.
I did enjoy it for what it was, I had no expectations of it being a show about three outcasts / band of misfits going on an adventure, so it didn't bother me that the trailer may have been a teeny bit misleading in that aspect.
The king character was the only one that felt annoying to me, mostly due to how he is voiced, but his ark in the first season made me actually really feel for him and even like him.
Overall, to me the first season of Disenchantment was a huge success and it brought me back to the part of my childhood, ages 8 to 13, when I was watching the Simpsons religiously together with my older brother and cousin every summer as we would spend those at the countryside and go on our own adventures through the surrounding woods.
P.S. Watch out for the little background details, mostly what's written on the signs, I found those quite funny as well.
