The New Westminster Riverfront area is a really fun place to visit as it's a true working river. Anytime you go wander around there something is happening whether it's a massive tugboat pulling a log boom or a barge. And when I look out the window and see the full moon I'm always drawn down to the river for a stroll.
It's usually more interesting as there are more people down there when the moon is out and the faces are always changing as the Royal City of New Westminster is starting to ramp up property development. Bosa has already broken ground with two gorgeous towers called River Sky and they have a pretty much approved project with 45 and 55 storey towers right on the waterfront with huge parks and hotel properties. I've only been here for 5 years and the growth has already been incredible. And it's just getting started!
I think it's probably a good idea for me to make the most of this still small town feeling place before it grows up more and shifts into it's next phase as a city. It's always going to be a charming place with heritage homes and business fronts but the quiet moments will become more alive as new people enter into the community.
The skyline was beautiful with pink hues and cotton candy clouds over the mountains. I just snapped these with my iPhone and am now wishing I would have brought the proper camera out... next time I will bring it for sure. Anyway I hope you enjoyed taking a quick look at my neighbourhood. Wishing you all a beautiful summer weekend!!
You managed to capture some great photos, I love the barge being towed. Nice to meet you Judy.
Thanks so much! Amazing to watch them pulling those big barges.

Thank you! I hope things are going great for you in your beautiful part of the world!
Nice photos. Love the 2 bridge picture, that one is my favorite.
BTW, this is my 2000th post or comment on the system. I pondered all day where to spend it. I decided here. :)
Thank you! There's something really great about the way bridges can be captured with photography, I'm glad you liked it.
I'm honoured to have received your 2,000th post here! I am very much a numbers person and that would be something I'd track as well... thanks for sharing it on my post :)
Hope you've had a great day!!
Seeing water and the moon is always nice. I always feel my moon pics fail to capture the awesomeness though.
So agree with you on that! I still keep trying and even with a good camera it just doesn't capture the beauty of real thing...
Hi Judy,
I sold my place on Columbia by the Hospital in New West.
I am now in Abby.
Would you like to do a Steemit meetup together?
Hi, how are you liking life in Abby? New West is getting busier all the time but I really like it here. Do you think we have enough people in the lower mainland to do a meet up? I think it would be great if we have enough user base here. Let me know what you think :)
Hi @Judym
I think we might be suprised at how many people are on Steemit in our area.
Two is a start and I have a friend in Abby on.
Her username is @spiceddragon
I have noticed within the comments that there is others in Vancouver.
I wonder if there is a link that gives a country or provincial location to each Steemit user?
I'm not sure about the link that shows location, if there was that would be great. I'd totally support and attend a meet up but I'm tight for time so would not be able to contribute too much to the organization of it. Just looked at your friends profile and they've been around for some time now, what do they think? Hope your day is going great :)
My day was great, thanks for asking.
I will slowing put together some idea's for a steemit meeting.
follow me and we will stay in touch.
I'm glad, and thanks for letting me know I wasn't following you. Totally missed that, my apologies. I am now :)
Look forward to seeing what you create for the Steemit meeting BC style.
no worries :)
I Will keep you informed with what I come up with for a Steemit meeting BC style ;)
