I started my healthy eating plan today, not just me we are doing it as a family so hubby and Nichola are joining me. It will be a lot easier with support. We will all be eating the same, buying no treats just stocking up with healthy low fat food for the foreseeable future.
I have been on a diet for most of my life either by myself or going to a club, I have tried them all Slimming World, Weight Watchers etc. Yes they work whilst I am going to the club but once I stop things go back to normal. I lost weight very slowly, its was hard work and very expensive so had to stop as I was buying food for me and other food for them but now we are all eating the same it is making shopping much easier plus there is no temptations in the house, nothing to stop my will power from straying, we even cleaned up all the left over chocolate from Christmas and binned them.
I have decided NOT TO DIET anymore from now on we are healthy eating, making wiser choices, thinking before I put anything in my mouth and asking myself do I really want it. I have also started drinking no added sugar juice then adding bottled mineral water, I need to up my water so this is a good way to start. I have a drink with each meal plus one in between meals to help fill me up. We have changed our salad dressing to balsamic vinegar, a few drops go along way. We have made a few changes in our food, swapping what we used to have for a healthier option.
We have added different salad leaves ones that have flavour more fruits and different fruits, vegetables cooked in different ways to change the meal, steaming, roasting instead of just boiling, adding more herbs and spices to our food, adding more fish and having a few no meat days.
I am a cake lover, a biscuit with my coffee especially at the end of the day, something sweet and tasty. We have changed these for Go Ahead bars, these come in with 2 biscuits only 99 calories for them both. A nice treat to end a good day.
This is not a diet, this is a healthy eating plan, a plan we will stick to. with the right changes things should start improving. Instead of grabbing for cheat foods there will be healthy options to chose.
Thank you @son-of-satire

Very good post👍
I think the key is just healthier eating. No junk. As soon as you say diet, I think we sabotage it for ourselves. My son and I started after Christmas on the healthier eating kick just more fruit and veggies, less meat and more vegan dishes. Nothing pre-packaged. My son has lost 12 pounds and I have lost 10 so far, so keeping my fingers crossed...
Well done both of you. I'm not going you get weighed as thats what makes me snack, if i put on I'm upset so i will tell by my clothes. The scales are lethal for me.
Good luck, it sounds as though you are approaching a healthier lifestyle the right way!
Thank you, just hope the will power stays strong :)
