There are benefits to failing.
Most of us avoid it at any cost. The embarrassment, The loss of money or resources. Failing can cause even the best of us to turn away even when there is a chance for massive success.
It Teaches You Adversity
Life isn't a walk in the park, And if you can't handle one minor thing, What makes you think you can handle something massive?
What makes you think you'll be capable of being successful if you can't handle screwing up once in a while.
Especially the more success you have, Typically the more responsibility and the more pressure. And potential failure there is.
Adversity is an important skill to learn, So Start failing.
Everyone Blends In
Screwing up can get you in trouble. But often when you mess up, it makes you stick out. And in a world full of people who blend in, This could potentially help you with your goals. That despite your failure, When you are seen fighting through, Trying again and again. This will show that you are determined, Many people give up after their first couple tries. SO even if you screwed up. Sticking out can potentially help you. Also, it may attract people who are willing to help you learn.
You Found One Way it Doesn't work
Even when we fail, That's progress. That's something new.
That's you moving forward because you know one mistake to avoid making again. Instead of letting it discourage you, you can use it as your strength to keep pushing. Try and look at other ways you haven't tried yet, You might find the apparent way to success.
It's sad, We are so afraid of failure, We often don't try new things that could get us the exact results that we want. Sometimes we are just days, Weeks, Or months away. Somes that goal or dream that you want is just around the corner! Be willing to fail. That's the only way to get there.
Yes! Finally, I've another person who rather takes the positive side of failure. I'm currently reading a book by Ron Friedman with title "Best Place to Work", and it shares that society should not have a negative stigma on failure. It should be embraced because like you mentioned it's a source for innovation.
If people will not be scared to try, because they are not scared of failing, more and more people will discover things we might not have discovered. Indeed it's through failures that we become better individuals (but of course, only when we analyze and try not repeating them).
Wow! I need to read that! It sounds interesting.
Right? People are so negative about everything, They need to take the time and think about the positive aspects of things, Usually there are some.
I came across articles before saying that events by themselves are "neutral", and it's up to us whether to see the dark or bright side. Of course, there is really time to be sad. After all, we're human. Still, let's try to be happy and positive even at 95% of the time. :)
Often, numerous people lead boring and uneventful lives because they fear the embarrassment and shame that comes with failure. People are scared of failure and often, don't get out of their comfort zone even though they aspire to so much more.
If you don't want to live the same, routinely, boring life, you must learn to take risks and accept failure whenever it comes. If you ask any successful businessman or entrepreneur, they will tell you how important it is to learn from your and other people's failure. No one has ever lived a happy life without facing failure.
Are we willing to fail and try again? And again? If so, success is almost in our grasp.
As I read inspiring stories of people who are doing what they love and making a difference in the world, I am struck by the fact they encountered significant failure.
Exactly! I feel like everyone who is successful has dealt with some massive failure of some sort.
Oh goshhhhh, I've been putting off failing too long, I've always stuck with the secure and easy route in certain areas, but failure is the key to true learning. We always learn from our mistakes, not always from our successes.
This year my goal is to put myself in uncomfortable positions and not worry about failing. At this point I don't care what everyone else thinks of me which I think is huge if you are going to take a leap and go for your dreams.
Thanks for continuing to encourage this community!
If you achieve nothing, you've achieved failure. Failure itself is something. :)
Exactly! You are right LOL I guess failure is something.
People learn less from the successes they have earned, from mistakes they have made, from negative events they have experienced. There is a word in our tradition;
"A misfortune is better than a thousand advice."
Failure is actually success. @kaylinart
Failing is the best opportunity to learn because reality show us we did something wrong, so it’s up to us to fix our mistakes, or keep making them.
It’s also good for our personal balance, because failing teaches us we aren’t perfect, and realizing that can be very humbling from time to time.
Life is about learning, and acomplishing our goals, but we need to have a lot of strength to do that, and having failures ultimately makes us stronger in the long run.
Too many times have I failed or my plans not worked out, pushing back where I want to be in life, but it ultimately shapes the person you become into someone much better. If things didn't happen the way they did, I may not have even found Steemit and who knows what would be happening in my life right now! Hehe :)
Yikes! I haven't thought about that in a while either, it's scary to think that we probably wouldn't be in as good of a place if we didn't find Steemit.
Right?! It's crazy to know how much Steemit and the people who support us have helped shape and change our future and lives for the better!
I have "failed" many times in my life. just keep plucking away at it.
Exactly! And eventually you'll get the success that you want.
Amen Sela!
inspiring
If there is no struggle in achieving something in life, one can never really appreciate the beauty, significance, and/or advantages of that thing.
Your body, your job, your partner, your success, everything has to be appreciated and usually the appreciation is a result of some dedication, desire, and hard work that was required at first.
I love failing , it sounds funny but I learn from every failure to work towards success . I learn what I did wrong everytime and I improve myself every single time
wonderful article! I couldn't have said it better myself! I have changed my studies three times now and thinking about the forth time. To explain my situation a bit further, I am currently fighting depression, so finding myself is the hardest thing right now. Yet alone having to get intense work done for computer science. That's why I am thinking about switching to a similar study with less mathematical content, because I feel like I would be able to be much better at developing my OWN thing alongside it. Failure has become a known company for me now, but I still fear it, especially because as a child I always was pushed to get better and better grades. I really thank you for this article, it brings a light in such dark times for me. Best regards, Jan
Good luck to you ♦♦ You may be onto something there, as far as reducing the AMT. of intense math you have to do on a given day.
That's a shame (you being prodded so much as a kid) - I want to tell u of a book that may (possibly) be of help to you .. I know it helped me to 'get out of my own way' by getting 2 know myself better & not blame myself as much (dont' know if u have the Time for it, but make a note for possible future) -- it's called "Finding Yr Own NORTH STAR", & it'll guide you in your Life path.
Plus, I think IF u can take some time to do the exercises in it, you'll have #Notes on your tendencies, your Likes/Dislikes -- then You'd know for sure about making a change in your studies ! ☻☻
Also exercises help u avoid the 'same mistakes' , and feel better abt yourself overall.
Thank you for your kind words, I will definitely look into it! I wish you a wonderful day
You are correct. Some lessons can only be learned the hard way, but even if they're painful, they can be very beneficial in helping us grow and improve ourselves. A wise person once said that the only mistakes you make are the ones you don't learn anything from.
@kaylinart Failure is part of life. The most important thing is we keep the lesson and keep on trying. Nobody says the road is easy,it is a bumpy road we live in and life is full of ups and downs. Thanks for the motivational post.
I Totally agreed @kaylinart. Failure gives us more lessons and experience to keep going our life success. Be willing to fail. Without failure we cannot understand how to go success way and how to control our life. Without problem no life indeed. Keep always positive mind and it useful for keep great target. If failure for something try to do different ways.
That's real life inspiration conversation. Thank you for inspire me.
Stay blessed.
@kaylinart Failure can teach you a lot and gives you ground for growth! Most importantly, failure is not permanent! You can try again, come back stronger and come out on top! To me it is a win - win situation.
have not we failed enough? have not we been tired of learning from our failures? Is not such a failure enough? when will we be successful? I am sick of asking myself these questions :((( @kaylinart
thank you post for.I have to believe to achieve. It is half of the achievement to believe.
Great post! Thanks for sharing your views - I agree. Failure is the perfect opportunity to learn something. I really don’t know why people are afraid to fail. Are they afraid to learn something? When failure is looked at as a learning opportunity it is no longer a thing to fear, but something to embrace.
According to an old saying, "The parents of success are many, and failure is orphan." We need to reverse this idea and not just accept the wrong steps we take and take it own...We need to learn from mistakes because we do not fall into the same mistake.. @kaylinart
Failure gives you some sort of experience of what doesn't work.
Thank you for sharing ♥ following you
@kaylinart failing is an another teacher which teaches the way to success. I remember once i lost in job but i overcomed my failures and now great. So it is a part of life evryone goes throught it never hold the pole of failure
I agree. Failure gives you some sort of experience of what doens't work. It makes you realize your mistakes. The most important part is to learn from those mistakes and keep trying until you achieve you goals! The fact that most people give up after a few tries, is the reason why there aren't too many people who succeed. The road to success is accompanied by a lot of failures. Great post, quite motivating! 😎
@kaylinart a good one motivational writing about failure.
Everything you want is on the other side of fear that's the motto and Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly so never loose hope
I love failing, just not all the time :D But failures lead up to learning and major successes that no one can teach you otherwise. Don't be afraid to get out there and try new things, you might totally suck at it as first and fail but hey thats why its new!
You are absolutely right in what you say, because many times behind a fault there is always a lesson or maybe that failure is the best opportunity of our lives
Failing is so good! That means we are going into uncharted territory and growing/expanding. We become stronger, conquer the new situations and move up to do it again! #Life :D
Sometimes I am afraid to do something because I think I would not be able to do it properly. In other words, I procrastinate. But once I start doing it, I'm surprised how easier it was than I thought. Fear of failure is the number 1 reason why people procrastinate.
This is so relatable...I learned to fail in 2017, so much stuff happened but it definitely taught me how to handle myself alot better!
that's why I love this phrase that Michael Jordan said:
You can definitely fail your way to success! It’s part of the progress plan 😊
Everything we have in life is an experience for us. Our uncle edison tells it a very nice sentence. "I've never been wrong, I've found 10000 ways that do not work".Failure is good leads us to success..
Thanks for sharing..
I always love seeing failure shown as a positive outcome, not that failing feels or is good initially, but that learning from it is. Topic always comes up in Ted Talks
At first it is difficult to see the good in failure.
But after all you get always new experiences and can learn a lot of them.
Failures are as valuable as problems.
People definitely don't realize how beneficial it is to fail at times. It really only makes you stronger talent wise and if it is a really stressful failure then you will be stronger mentally :). I never thought about not blending in though so that's great insight!
You are so on point. As it has been said. If you don’t succeed try try again.
Action speaks louder than words.
But then many times we just need to step back and re-evaluate. What if that thing which isnt working out is actually not the best thing for us?
