I am a WINNER..... I am ORGANISED and in CONTROL of MY LIFE. I am a WINNER! I am HEALTHY, ENERGETIC, ENTHUSIASTIC, and I AM GOING for it!
The above Ladies and Gentleman is Self-Talk. It is what you say to yourself on a daily basis. It's your programming. Without getting deep, you self-talk is like the keyboard to your computer, your computer being your mind. If you type a letter on your keyboard (your programming) that's what comes up on the screen. and it is 100% a fact! what self-talk you say to your self (your own programming) leads to the Beliefs you have, which then creates your Attitude, which then determines your Actions, which of course then by the actions you take,YOU then create your Results.
Hence you must understand how powerful the negative comments like "I can't....""or "If only I could......" or "I wish I could but I can't....." and so on all work against you. and If you have picked a career in Sales, where commission provides your income, you can have all the closes, all the presentation skills, and all the pitches in front of you, yet negative self-talk kills it dead! You will never sell, ok you might trip over a deal or two but you certainly will not be successful.
The next time you are within ear shot of fellow Sales Reps and you hear negative talk like the above what you are witnessing is the act of the "GET BY" attitude. Those who accept what life presents to them, it washes away the flames in your dreams yet because YOU are saying this to your self, YOU believe it.....! (have you ever tried lying to yourself?)
If you don't believe it don't do it, stay as you are, it has to come from within. Yet I can 100% promise you from my heart it works.....! I regularly train Sales Professionals and it is a strange coincidence that once they start talking "Yea but..." "I tried that but...." "I just can't seem to close......" "no one wants to see me......" "they don't need what I'm selling" their sales performance drops. They don't sell, they blame, and earn no money. Can it be fixed? Yes but IT HAS TO COME FROM WITHIN. External motivation is only temporary and just like when your are Selling, if you TELL someone to do something they won't. If you ask questions and show features with potential benefits then maybe they will choose to.
That's all any Sales Coach can do, show you and share with you ideas. NOT TELL YOU!
YOU are the only person that can improve your performance and YOU will only do what you believe. To assist with this what do you think will help your sales performance and put more MONEY on the table for you and your family to enjoy?
Negative Self-Talk or Positive Self-Talk?
If you choose Positive, they by writing down positive self talk affirmations like the one at the top of this blog or the one below and reading them daily, may see a change in your results. It should help as our
Programming (our self-talk) creates our Beliefs (what we believe)
Our Beliefs create our Attitudes.
Our Attitudes create our Feelings.
Our Feelings determine our Actions.
Our Actions create our Results.
"I am a WINNER! I BELIEVE in myself. I RESPECT myself and I Like who I am. I have made the decision to win in my life and that's what I'm doing......!"
Best wishes dear mam.
Can you hear me applauding from Gainesville, Georgia?
Believe me, I am!
Relevant to your point: My favorite comparison is that life is like an elevator. We have a choice. We can push the UP button or the DOWN button.
Any day we choose to push the DOWN button, nothing seems to go right, even when we make heroic efforts. People respond to us poorly, we lose focus, we stop trying early because we see no results from our efforts.
Ah. . .but on the days we push the UP button, the universe seems to support our every action! Unprecedented results happen, and our spirits soar.
My favorite all-time essay on this topic: Ralph Waldo Emerson's "Self Reliance." "Trust thyself," he wrote, "every heart vibrates to this iron string."
You are an amazing thinker and writer. Of all your posts I have benefited from, this one heads the list.
One more point: James Allen echoed your theme: "As a man thinketh, so is he."
Thanks for this stimulating post!
I just love your optimism !! Continue so: D
