The one who loose his life serving others, will gain it
How good it is to share the knowledge you have with other people especially when it is for a noble cause. I learned from English people, the technique of making patchwork by hand for the creation of beautiful quilts. I was asked to guide some women in the elaboration of small quilts of 1 meter x 1 meter, this quilts were to cover the legs of children with cancer at the children's hospital in the city of Valencia in Carabobo, Venezuela.
The children received chemotherapy in a room that was very cold and there were not enough blankets to cover them. The President of the organization to which I belong (Relief Society) asked me to help because these women didn´t have a sewing machine. All very encouraged by the cause began the task regardless of whether they knew how to sew or not.
Well, they were sick women, some with cancer, with rheumatism, very needy of everything but they forgot of themselves and started to work with great enthusiasm. They made mistakes but were willing to undo what had been done.
In the next pictures I will tell about the spirit of these noble women. They taught me that it is better to give, help, serve others in need than to see the things you don´t have, also to have open hands willing to enrich the lives of others, perhaps many of those children have already died but they were grateful for what they were given, especially because the women who made this quilts were needed too and preferred to occupied serving other people.
Once the quilts were finished came the process of wrapping them to be taken to the hospital
Observation:
I didn´t want to publish children´s photos for respect to their families
I remembered how tired were you all but in spite of that, all of you were smiling excited to be able to help the most needy people.
