I can personally attest to the amount and quality of sleep affecting productivity. There is only so long that we can run on near empty. Sleep is the body's time for repair and maintenance. If you're not getting enough sleep, you start wearing your body down. I can cheat myself on sleep for about a five days before ultimately I start coming down with cold like symptoms.
