Life Hack: upside-down beer on the fridge door, to save space!

in #life7 years ago

This is a simple "life hack", which I haven't seen before. Many people keep bottled goods on the doors of their fridges; bottles tend to be larger at the bottom, and tapered as it gets to the top. Turn a beer bottle over, and it fits perfectly!

I follow the YouTube channel "Crazy Russian Hacker" and recently saw a similar hack on one of his videos, which was a strip of magnets you can affix to the top of the fridge, so bottled beer (or other beverage) can be held up in place, and then smaller containers can sit below the beer, saving space.

With that in mind, I thought I'd share this method that I've been using for years. I keep a case of beer in the basement, and four beers in the basement fridge. When I need more up here, I go down, put four more in the fridge, and bring the four cold ones up. To keep from using precious shelf space, I started inverting them, on the door, and it works great, especially as those items on the door are rarely used in the evening/night when I tend to enjoy these beverages. :) The other two are on the other door, and not pictured.

Cheers! :)

That's a cool life have time to apply it :D

My fridge never gets that full, lol.

We just have a separate beer fridge that gets used for some overflow from kitchen as well. I need to get my keg fridge built though for homebrew.

One place I worked at we had two kegs in the server room. Lasted until insurance found out... :)

That's Eddie Murphy, but what's that from? I really enjoyed him in Trading Places, but he seems a little older here.

I dunno to be honest!

But I like him:))

Looks a little precarious to me especially if you've had a few ; )

Right? Therein lies the challenge. :)

But seriously, it's actually not at all precarious -- they fit in snugly, and also tend to push the bottles into each other, making a secure embrace.

hey @libertyteeth I sent you a pm on steemitchat!

Oh hey, sorry I missed it. Send me a link? I went to one site but it seemed ... weird. So I didn't want to give it my password...

Nice, I need to start up my home brewing again.

Haven't tried that yet myself. A few coworkers did, years ago, to varying receptions. :)

It took me a few batches to actually make something drinkable, but over time they got a little better. Funny thing is, this very post made me check craigslist for a fridge to ferment in and I found a killer deal on the commercial fridge I always wanted! Brought it home today! I already have enough ingredients to make 10 gallons of IPA, I'm pretty excited!

Well then, you're welcome for the motivation! :D

This bring me to one conclusion: there is always space for beer!😉
When i am home i always have like 6 beers in the fridge and i always drink in the evening time when i am relaxing. I don't have a basement but i am lucky to have a small non stop shop like less then 5 minutes from me so just in case i run out i am safe.
Always drink with responsability!
Have a great Sunday!

Nice, yeah we have a convenience store within walking distance but no beer, and under a 5 minute drive, with beer. Thanks, you as well (perhaps, next Sunday! :) ).

They look comfortable upside down.😁😁😁

Another fun one - put all similar utensils in the same section of the dishwasher = instant unloading speed boost.

Nice! I like that one a lot, enough so that I might make labels. They'd need to be waterproof though... :)

Eindelijk eens een nuttige hack. :-)
