Thank you @themanwithnoname ! I forgot to mention this in the post, but his wife was in the front seat, holding her baby in her lap too!!! How awful is that??!
Apparently the police check in with us "later" to see if he's paid, and if not, they haul him off to jail again. Interesting system they have here, that's for sure!
Thanks again for the caring and support!
He had a baby in the car?! What? I don't know that guy's life, but something has to be going on for him to be acting like that.
I hope you're able to get the money soon!
You have no idea how many families of three, four and even five I see squeezed onto a scooter, never mind the lack of car seats etc in a car. In fact, I've never seen a car seat here; babies and kids are always on their parents' laps.
I watched a dad once pile his two girls, one so little I had to help lift her onto the scooter in front of him, with the second girl behind him trying to hold onto a 24 pack of toilet paper, while the one in front held on to some other groceries. It was night time too!! but he just put on his hazards and away they went! It really is crazy!!!
The police and head of the taxi union phoned us and said if the guy didn't pay us within the next couple of weeks, we're to let them know and they'll haul him off to jail again :)
Wait, people seriously put five people on one scooter? I can't imagine that's good for the scooter! Heh.
I guess that's one way to determine who survives to adulthood. If your parents don't drop you while driving, you get to live.
That's so scary that people would ride like that while it's night time. And with two kids! Wouldn't it be safer to leave them at home unsupervised than to take them out on the scooter?
Well, hopefully he pays you and there aren't any issues beyond that. Meet in public places if you have to see him. Does he even have the money, or is he just going to go to jail over and over and keep getting poorer every time?
