Fantastic pictures!
As you know, we celebrate our boys' birthdays. Cosmo turned sixteen in June. And since it was two years after somehow surviving complete renal failure, we smoked a big brisket to celebrate.
At this point in his life, we're pretty much celebrating every quarter and half birthday.
Comet is a Halloween cat, too.
We don't sing "Happy Birthday" to our cats, but aside from the song itself, he sounds like us with our cats.
My husband and I both cried a bit reading this. So good to read. And so sad to even momentarily think that someday Vicki will be gone. But she's there now, so spoil that beautiful creature every chance you get.
Happy Birthday to both Cosmo and Comet! I'm glad to hear all your fur babies are doing well. Last time you disappeared I think one of your kitties was pretty sick if I remember right? It's been a while and I couldn't find which one. We also let the cats celebrate Thanksgiving with us and I cook a big old turkey so we can share. They all get spoiled.
I'm glad to hear we're not the only one to celebrate a pet. They make life so much better and happier that they should be celebrated. I guess since I last talked with you hear my animal family has grown. I've still got the five cats but now we have four ducks too! I never thought I'd be crazy enough to have nine animals but yeah...life is never dull now. lol.
Apollo and Nova have both had their birthdays, too. Apollo was August 28th and Nova was September 7th. My husband and I have both reached another year in age as well.
Apollo was the sick cat. We almost lost him, but he pulled through. There were a few permanent marks left. Such as damage to his natural gut flora, and he can't jump very well anymore, so now he climbs everywhere instead. He still loves the bitter cold, but he's now much more vulnerable to hypothermia so we have to be careful with his body temperature.
I did come back after that, but not for too long.
If by some miracle we manage to get the house, we're thinking of getting chickens. They're legal in our little city and becoming surprisingly common here.
I also have a list of cats to adopt from the local no kill shelter, and we want to get at least one dog.
