As someone who has changed their name, its something that changes how you feel about yourself and how people perceive you. Although my change might have been a bit different since I changed mine from an Asian name to an Anglo-Saxon one I feel like I would have a similar effect. When I changed my name I did it so that people around me wouldn't have to fumble around and mispronounce it. It led to easier way to introduce myself and made it easier to fit in within my community. If you do decide to change your name and you're happy with what you're changing it to, I'm sure it'll work in your favour. But, before you do, maybe have a think about why you want to change it, is it because you want to leave behind the memories associated with your current name or is it because you're looking to live life from a different perspective.
