In my opinion,each religion have some ideology and they ask their follower to follow that.
But their origin is difficult to predict .
I watched one movie and I suggest you to watch..that is 'The Man from Earth(2007)'
I loved the movie .The whole movie is in the single room with few peoples having debate.
Do watch.It may help you to open.

Thank you for your comment. A lot of the origins of religion are actually fairly easily traced with the right education.
