Off-Steem Milestones: I got my drivers license today!

Milestones are awesome and they need to be celebrated! Now, I've never done a real milestone post 'On-Steem' ever, yet, but I hope I will celebrate a dolphin milestone somewhere in 2018 (the current markets might help with that).

My first milestone post then is today about the fact I got my drivers license after a year of practicing!

Some fun facts that have been leading up to this:

My drivers instructor was the same instructor my mother had about 30 years ago. Not only that: she was his first student, and actually by being his student my mother helped him to train to become an instructor. She was the first student he ever brought to an exam, but unfortunately she didn't pass immediately. She did pass on her second try.

I passed on my second try as well. The first time I slept only 40 minutes from nerves and drove shakily. I basically felt out of my body and not in control of the decisions I made. After that first attempt I made huge progress and felt more and more secure of me being in control of the car. Today I was still crazy nervous but he mentioned that despite that he saw 'I understood the game'. He let me pass even though I didn't drive perfectly.

Today is my mother's birthday. I love the fact I passed the exam on my mothers birthday, extra coincidence due to her link to my instructor as well. I could congratulate her and tell her she could congratulate me as well ;-)
(She didn't know beforehand I went for a test today, lol, since I hate all the attention that brings in the form of good luck messages so only my boyfriend knew about the test today :D)

Last week my instructor asked me what I knew about Bitcoin. He wanted to buy in. I told him I earned through the Steem Blockchain. Today the man who took my exam mentioned he wanted to find 'something' to put his money in now FIAT seems to be getting closer to a crash. When I said 'well, I'm in crypto...', he mentioned Bitcoin and I told him about STEEM.

I'm honestly terribly happy I succeeded today. I never thought I would want or need a drivers license. But after walking became more difficult for me I realised being able to drive would enhance my circle of freedom with a thousand percent at least. So not only am I proud I DID IT, I'm also excited to learn what this new skill will provide me in terms of new opportunities.

I will keep you updated!

Just wanted to share.

Gefeliciteerd!

Congrats! And safe travels!

Wh00p! Once I have a car I'll tell you which one you have to watch out for! :')

That's so kind of you! ;)

This is the only way I'll keep Rotterdam safe: "Watch out for the yellow car guys! Please share this post with your friends and family!"

Double congrats!! Fun coincidence... My instructor helped both my mother and father a long long time ago. They both passed on their first try. I did too (which was pretty much a miracle). My older brother had lessons somewhere else and passed on his second try. My younger brother went for the "family instructor" and passed on his first try. There really is a pattern with instructors, family and number of tries!
You will have so much fun driving. The first time alone in a car is a scary and weird experience with nobody able to correct you. But you'll do fine and have some amazing roadtrip adventures in the future!

Ahhh - I love that story! Your older brother should have kept the family tradition, he learned it the hard way :')

Yes, I might already do a 'solo drive' this week, but in Limburg in all the empty little streets and farmlands, so relatively stress-free and a good way to feel how it is to drive both without an instructor and in a different car than I'm now used to :D

Just make sure you drive in the flat area of Limburg ;)
When my brother started his lessons, my parents never thought about sending him to their old instructor. I postponed my lessons because I didn't feel like it, until my dad ran into his old instructor that told him he was still giving lessons in the area. Before I knew it, I was set up for my first lesson (how embarrassing). When my younger brother started his lessons, this family instructor had turned into the CBR celebrity. He had a first-attempt streak of a year at least. He was worried that my younger brother would ruin his streak so he gave him extra lessons and a test-exam before the real exam. I think he made a wise decision looking at the accidents my brother had after he got his license :D

Oh man - funny stories! Hahaha - smart move to make your brother go through some extra tests before 'the real thing' :')

Hahaha - goeie tip! :D Dankjewel :D

So ehhhh 😐. Youve been driving around all this time without it?!?!?! 😂😎🤗

I've only been driving in trains so far :')

Congratulations!

Thank you! :D

Great! Well done. Just make sure to always keep your eye on the road. Don’t txt and drive please, and remember always check for blind spots. Enjoy 😉 your drive...

:D Thanks for these safety warnings! Lol! We have to keep the roads safe eh!

Hmm you are so elated and happy and that's so beautiful. And what if a better ride arrives? I bet your smile will lighten the whole universe!

Even better than this one? Impossible! (Any car would make me happy now, I don't have one ;-))

Congrats what exciting news!

Yes yes yes, I'm super happy indeed! Crashing down from living on a 'high' today, lol.

Congratulations!

Congrats. My driving school went bankrupt weeks before my first exam but that is another story.

congratulations, this will open up your world!

Congratulations! It feels so great to accomplish something huge!

What a coincidence about your mom as a student and you!

But after walking became more difficult for me
I probably have to get one as well then T^T LOLOL

Congratulations! Happy Driving.

Congratulations! The freedom of the road awaits you. It is pretty important to know how to drive and there is a freedom to getting into the car and heading off, though I think this is more of an American experience as we have lousy trains ;)

Congrats on the accomplishment. I sometimes forget that not everyone gets their license as soon as it is possible. I was there on my 16th birthday taking my drivers test. I couldn't wait to get access to a car. LOL. Enjoy the new found freedom and ability to go where you want, whenever you want.

Yeah congrats! That's so cool.. and so convenient! I was so happy when my mom told me (after I thought that she would not be able to afford that) that she was going to buy me that package for lessons..

Congrats!!!

Thanks to @anomadsoul making me "A whale for a day" by following my vote while he is traveling, my vote will be followed directly by his vote with the same percentage. So thanks to this you will receive a much higher upvote than I could give with my own Steem Power.

Have a great weekend!

Dat is nog een een milestone!! Life can potentially be so much easier if you have decent transportation.. Independence here we go!!

Congratulations. Gefeliciteerd met deze mooie mijlpaal!!!
Wonderful story! My experience is that a car gives complete new possibilities and perspectives! Hope you can discover and enjoy them.

How did I missed that?
Congratulations and happy riding!!!
You know I had the same gym teacher with my mother, life can be so funny some times :)
