and yes, I do think women must be ready to protect themslves.
"It's not feminine, girls should be weak" - many people are used to say, but when it concerns some real problems with real enemies weakness isn't so cool.
I was fond of learning aikido some years ago. I'm very slim, and there are a lot of people and men as well, who were sure they could offend me just for fun (it was in my childhood), but when they knew I had some skills, they had no wish to try and they started to respect me. When I grew older, my slim body became my best "card" but still people respect my fighting experience.

And to my mind it's better and more useful than just bodybuilding for women (that is rather harmful for women health, as I've discovered). Fighting can really help you when you're in danger, but at the same time you keep your slim and feminine body.
