Thanks so much @sebastianjago <3
You’re amazing! Thanks for helping to give me hope that this crap I’m thinking and feeling at the moment, isn’t real :)

I hope that we support a lot.
Thank you @thedreamsun66 :)
Sometimes it is tough to tell yourself all these reassuring things, but I agree it is something more people should be doing. If you go around telling yourself you can't do this and everything is your fault, it's only so long until you start believing it. And some people don't realize they're doing it either. So being self-aware to the fact is a crucial starting point on the road to positive thinking in your life.
Great post. Thanks for sharing. :)
@idontgnu - it sure is tough (initially) - but our mind is like a computer. I agree that a damaged mind cannot easily convert negative thoughts into positive ones - I tried to in my depressive states and it resulted in 'guilt' as I didn't believe those positive words or thoughts. So the process of believing those words at our core, by firstly going through the realisation journey of knowing what our barriers are in the first place and how they formed, is how one is able to begin to understand and therefore be a master of their mind, rather than their mind mastering them.
It's a difficult process yes, but we are all equipped to go through our journey's and reach a stage of mastery. Just like any career or skill, it is something that needs to be practiced daily and there is no 'easy' way, although there are lots of different paths.
Thank you for your discussion and support :) :)
It's probably one of the more difficult things to do, just like getting into exercising, it's all about structure and staying consistent and being aware of what's coming into your brain.
It's funny you say that, letting their mind master them because in either case it's a product of your mind's device. All negative and positive thoughts begin in the brain. I guess it's just the case of knowing what to filter out and choosing what to believe.
Unfortunately not everyone is surrounded by positivity and therefore sending people into a downward spiral of depression. I have a family member that is struggling with depression and making sure she is surrounded by people with good intentions is extremely important when she has no one. I would keep reminding her to stay positive and filter out such thoughts.
Anyway, thanks for a great discussion. Keep positive @tinanikolovski! :)
Love the discussion!
What I meant by 'the mind mastering them'... is yes you're right, the positive and negative thoughts 'begin' in the brain, but what is causing them to be positive or negative? The subconscious mind right, and what caused them to originate there in the first place? That's what everyone as an individual needs to determine, as the subconscious is what wires their 'positive' or 'negative' thoughts, and usually originates from some point in their childhood. Awareness is the first step and sometimes as individuals it's hard for us to remember or know which memories from our childhood caused the various 'barriers' to form.
Our mind is like a computer, so if we don't take the necessary steps to understand it and start to wire it ourselves, it will in a sense control us.
And yes of course, the environment is a major factor to one's state of mind, especially when it is in a vulnerable state. However one must get to a point where they are able to be in any environment (not necessarily 'stay' there) and still maintain their mastered mindset.
I love that you're encouraging your family member. I struggled with clinical depression for 10 years and that spiral is a horrible experience. I wish all the best for him/her and your family - if he/she agrees, try and get him/her to see a life coach or someone who is able to pinpoint when the barriers formed and work through them together. Life coaches are amazing as they give the individual the tools to free/empower themselves. They also don't necessarily 'diagnose' and put people in boxes like most western practitioners (who aren't holistic enough in the first place), nor do they try and treat the problem by masking it with external pills.
All the best @idontgnu thanks again for the awesome discussion :)
Right, where do they initially begin? It's difficult for most people to pinpoint what or who may have influenced you to start thinking and treating yourself in such a way. Like you said, the subconscious mind is what determines how your positive and negative thoughts are wired. The amount of subconscious programming in media these days it's hard to go anywhere without feeling self-conscious about every little thing.
Getting to a point with a mastered mindset inside any environment takes a lot of training and re-programming your brain to deal with every situation. But with the awareness, dedication, and support system most people can climb out of the dark hole of depression.
My family member is getting lots of help from outside coaches and counselors alike. Unfortunately I am out of country and she is dealing with all this by herself, as my family lives more than an 8 hour drive away. She has been in counseling for over a year and has, more or less, pinpointed the root of her depression, which is great at attempting to rebuild her life mentally.
I'm sorry to hear about your struggle with depression, but glad to know those days are in your past and you're beginning to live life fully with positivity beaming through your mind. :)
Thank you for this warming discussion, @tinanikolovski!
Yep, it is definitely a difficult journey with many potential paths towards gaining self-mastery. I talked to a lot of mentors but there was one conversation in particular which changed my life. I agree, at that point I wouldn't have been able to pinpoint those moments or know to ask the right questions on my own, I only knew to do so because I trusted a friend who asked me all those difficult questions. I had to let my walls down and become completely vulnerable and also remember painful memories which at the time I didn't realise were the source of those barriers, subsequently everything made sense, instantaneously. It was literally a lightbulb moment.
Sounds like a difficult situation for the family member, it's great that you're supporting her as best as you can and I wish you and her all the best. Also so wonderful that she's pinpointed the root of her depression and is starting the rebuilding phase.
And thank you for the kind words and the amazing discussion once again :) Have an amazing day and wish you all the best @idontgnu
