Yep, it is definitely a difficult journey with many potential paths towards gaining self-mastery. I talked to a lot of mentors but there was one conversation in particular which changed my life. I agree, at that point I wouldn't have been able to pinpoint those moments or know to ask the right questions on my own, I only knew to do so because I trusted a friend who asked me all those difficult questions. I had to let my walls down and become completely vulnerable and also remember painful memories which at the time I didn't realise were the source of those barriers, subsequently everything made sense, instantaneously. It was literally a lightbulb moment.
Sounds like a difficult situation for the family member, it's great that you're supporting her as best as you can and I wish you and her all the best. Also so wonderful that she's pinpointed the root of her depression and is starting the rebuilding phase.
