RE: Toys that Take me Back

in #life8 years ago

Awesome post, love to reminisce too. I was a huge fan of Lego & Meccano and had a massive MicroMachines collection. My ceiling in my room was a museum of model aircraft suspended in dogfights; SR-71 Blackbird, F-14 Tomcat, Concorde, Biplanes, Harrier, Intruder, Viggen, Apache attack heli, Mirage, Mustang etc.

Then girls happened..

We grow up much to fast! Awesome toys you have/had... the little matchbox cars I remember playing with them!

Remember these:

Haha, totally! DonkeyKong was KING! The flip-open one had 2 screens, hahaha it was so awesome! My older cousins had the most epic Matchbox collections, also train sets. You don't see those anymore. I think I should go and get a model plane on principle and start building again.

Get back to your inner-youth ;)

That's the sprit! I think we never really grow up, and that's fine by me. Did you ever play a game on IBM's 640k called Sopwith? And the first Test Drive? It was SO legit!!

The graphics on that! My favorite game of all time was Rick Dangerous... so addicted

Haha, those graphics were the bomb! I don't remember Rick Dangerous.. I do recall Digger, Battle Chess, Prince of Persia. There has to be a market for these old school machines somewhere...
