Yoga a discipline consisting of proper breathing, workout of the whole body thru different ‘Asana’ and meditation is practiced all over the world for good health and relaxed body and mind, Its effects have been scientifically proved and it has benefited millions of followers. It has been proved to be so beneficial that people are paying thousands of dollars to practice in a yoga class. Such wonderful thing yoga is.
Considering its origin in India 5000 years ago some might think that its benefits and practice is an important part of Indian culture. Well it was but not now, not any more. If you get a chance to visit India ask a local person if he does yoga? 96 time out of 100 their answer will be ‘No’. No one does yoga anymore; people do think it as a waste of time, but why?
If you ask anyone from India they well say, it is all due to the western culture India has started to follow, by the way we Indians love to blame our own incompetence regarding to our own culture to the western culture, like more people are drinking and smoking blame it on western culture, two couple love each other once again western culture and being gay WoW how can that not be western culture.
But what us Indians have failed to realize that even westerners are following good habits from each part of the world, like meditation, Taichi and yoga. So why shouldn't we do that our self?
The worst thing on top of this is some Indians are pretending to be yoga gurus and cheating willing yoga enthusiast, don't assume if a person is Indian he eats chicken curry and he will be a yoga guru :P, Every Chinese does not know Kungfu right ? People are being fraud by many due to this notion, it is such a shame how some Indians have started scamming people in the name of yoga.
Prime minister of India worked hard to get 21st June declared as International Yoga Day every year, In a hope to revive Yoga’s glory once again, people are kind of forced to do yoga on that day, but they should realize that
Practicing a wise habit is the habit of a great person
Yoga doesn't need a lot of your time like going to a gym, you can practice yoga at the comfort of your home with no equipment needed, with yoga your body itself is a machine, and you can do it daily for 10-15 minutes and you will surely start experiencing the benefits in few days, and the effects are long term too.
I am trying to spread awareness about yoga to everyone and would really appreciate if you will support the cause by trying to check about yoga and its 'asana'.

Anyway great post. :D
I was blessed to find a local studio that practices the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar. It was amazing to me after attending beginner vinyasas, flow, ashtanga, that Iyengar yoga is such a different connection for me. "Light on Yoga" the book helped me break out of being so square. The relation to the article is that to become certified in Iyengar as an instructor, you must still go to Pune, India to practice under the remaining children of Iyengar. It isn't completely dead, thankfully!
yes it is only the effort of the truely dedicated followers that tru form of yoga is preserved .. and B K S Iyengar was surely a really great guru and master of yoga.
best
