I did kickboxing for a year before I switched to 100% weightlifting and I can say the following:
The girls there start to become delusional because you always have to slow down because if you start practicing with the girls like you do with the man then everyone will look at you like you are a rapist, it happened to me several times.
I refused to "practise" with women (trainer told us to fight with each other for 2 minutes and then change the partner till we all fought with each other) and after a while I was allowed to skip them.
I came two times per week for an hour per session and I wanted to seriously fight there and not walk on eggshells.
I wanted to bleed when the hour was over.
So what I am saying here is: If you are a girl and you are overweight then go & fight because you will lose weight super fast. If you have fun doing it then I can recommend it too, it is a lot of fun.
Otherwise, I can not recommend it because I do not see a woman winning against a man unless she is super experienced and fights against a weak man that is too scared to hit back.
Pepper-spray does a better job for self-defense. It is cheap and costs no time to learn.

Me too, because they usually lie. A woman that was truly raped doesn't talk about it in public.
Than you did not understand the full essence of martial arts.. It is not just bleeding or winning an opponent... If someone is X2 you weight and has less experience than you, he will still have a great advantage in a fight.. It is about learning improving and sometimes getting ready for the worst...

Most men don't know how to fight either and size doesn't determine who will win a fight if there are no rules and all techniques are allowed. I would say even a small woman can kill a man if she knows where and how to attack. At the same time if the man has equal skill and is bigger then I agree it favors the man in that instance but the same applies if you put a smaller man against a bigger man of equal skill.
Pepper spray or sprays in general are weapons. I think women should learn to use a diverse array of weapons for self defense including their bodies if necessary.
If you have the time for it and it honestly is fun for you, then go for it.
Otherwise, I recommend pepper-spray just like I wrote above.

Size makes people do not even try you, so you win the fight without even fighting, which is mastery of war according to Sun Tzu. Also you do not need to hit as much as someone with no strength. You can also just lift them up and throw them on the ground crushing their bones.
I agree with the no rules and techniques because you will be unable to do shit if the other person just pepper sprays you.
Fighting sport cannot compare to a street fight, which is another reason why it is a waste of time.
Get boxing gloves and smash the shit out of each other, that will be better street fight preparation than any "fighting sport".
On the street you destroy your opponent with full force, hold back, start talking, or try thinking and you lose, at which point your opponent can do with you whatever he/she wants.
