Fat does not make you fat! The lies we are led to believe

in #london7 years ago

Okay so I’m 125 pounds, I’m 5ft 4, and I eat skin on chicken, avocados, coconut oil, olive oil and butter. That’s where most people go ‘what?!?!’ How can you eat all that saturated fat and weigh what you weigh and look how you look?

Well it’s because I discovered a truth that unlocked so much for me and exposed me to the lies we have all been fed for over 50 years! I hear it all the time, ‘if you eat too much fat you will clog up your arteries’, ‘eating the egg yolk will cause high cholesterol’, ‘margarine is better for you than butter’.

Seriously!! I would be rich if I was given money every time I heard someone say this. I watch all these weight loss programs and hear highly esteemed experts in the field of nutrition say that to live a healthy life and to lose weight you must stay away from saturated fats and eat low fat foods where possible.

Well I am here to tell you today IT’S NOT TRUE!! YOU HAVE BEEN LIED TO. YOU CAN EAT FAT, BE HEALTHY AND LOOK AMAZING and it’s my mission today to show you how.

But first let me set the record straight on a few things. You might be sitting there thinking ‘how can this be true?’ All the major dietary recommendations out there say I must eat less saturated fat. It’s important to first understand the background and then it will all start to make sense – I promise you!

HOW MYTH BECAME TRUTH

There is NO proven link between dietary cholesterol- aka saturated fat- and blood cholesterol. There, I said it – you’ve been lied to, and for a long time!

In the 1950’s there was a study done by Dr Ancel Keys in which he “proved” that dietary fat has a direct impact on our cholesterol levels and therefore increases the rate of heart disease and many heart related deaths.

But when you scratch the surface a bit deeper you find that the results of his studies were actually cherry picked to prove his hypothesis. Ancel had data available to him from 22 countries but chose to publish the report with only 7 countries in it – the only 7 countries which seemingly proved his hypothesis – but even with those seven countries, the lifestyle factors of people were not taken into account – things like smoking, the quality of water and pollution.

This study sparked the ‘low fat’ revolution, which is still so prominent today, all the while the REAL killer is still running rampant under the radar…more on that later.

THE BETTER QUESTION

Instead of asking yourself “is fat bad for me?” you need to be asking “which fats are good and which fats will make me sick?”

There is a HUGE difference between good fats and bad fats. Bad fats are things like highly processed vegetables oils and margarines – you know the oils that supermarkets label as “good for you” or “zero cholesterol’ (like that’s even a thing!)’.

These are called hydrogenated oils or trans fats and they have been processed and heated in a way to improve their shelf life – but that doesn’t mean it improves our health – quite the contrary actually.

A Closer Look at Hydrogenated Oil

Take for example canola oil aka rapeseed oil – long hailed as the world’s ‘healthiest’ cooking oil. There is nothing healthy or natural about this oil. The process of turning canola seed into oil is a long and highly processed job, which uses excessive heat and machines to make it ‘safe’ for human consumption. The problem is it is anything but safe.

According to world experts Authority Nutrition ‘Canola oil is made with a highly unnatural processing method that involves high heat, deodorization and the toxic solvent hexane. Significant amounts of trans fats are formed during this process.’ And trans fats are known for being a major contributor in major lifestyle diseases such as heart disease.

The Real Culprit: INFLAMMATION!

Foods that your body has a hard time processing or doesn’t recognize as food will cause inflammation in the body – it’s your bodies way of protecting itself. Clever huh?

Well enough inflammation signals for deposits of cholesterol that act as a plaster on the plaque that is now forming on your arteries from the consumption of bad fats and other foods our bodies were never intended to consume.

The cholesterol deposits will eventually build up and BAM! One day – it’s just too much and you have a heart attack – or you are diagnosed with heart disease or high cholesterol and are told to stay away from fats. So what do you do? Do you start avoiding fat like the plague and start eating more low fat foods? Which leads me to my third point…

Low Fat = High Sugar

PICKERING_005.jpg

When a label reads “LOW FAT,” what is really saying is “High Sugar,” or “High in Trans Fats” 100% of the time. No exceptions.

Now I’m not talking about real, whole foods that nature has provided for us, I’m talking about foods with the label that says ‘low fat’ – margarine, yogurts, sweeteners, all of it is toxic to your body – why?

Because sugar is highly acidic and therefore puts your otherwise alkaline body in an acidic state and keeps it there – why does this matter? Well disease can only survive and thrive in an acidic body – and sugar makes sure that those sicknesses and diseases can have a field day in your body.

Sugar is highly addictive (more addictive then cocaine – it’s true!) and also causes inflammation in the body. The mix of sugar/artificial sweeteners and bad fats = a disaster waiting to happen.

So what can you do about it? I’m so glad you asked! That’s what I’ll be covering in my next post tomorrow 🙂

I hope you found this helpful - I am really passionate about empowering you to make decisions based on the truth - I hope this will go some way in making that possible

Much love

Agreed. Our bodies need complete foods which includes some natural sugars, salt, fat, vitamins, enzymes, all of those things are found in some foods and many people are not eating enough fats and like you said, fat does not make us fat. Our bodies does it best save food sometimes when it might be starving or something. The body has to try to balance everything out and if your digestive system is slowing down, then your body may store more and more fat because it needs to save the food for later and because the body is not digesting the food too perhaps.

ahaha I mean come on when your in ketosis, your body switches from using glucose in the mitochondria to using ketones a substance that it formed by breaking down the fatty acids in the body AND IN YOUR FOOD, It can't be that bad if the body can switch entirely to it as a fuel source!!

Sugar is highly addictive (more addictive then cocaine – it’s true!)

Now this is what the world needs to here thank you for helping get the truth out there!

Absolutely! Ketosis is where it is at! Thank you so much @blockchainyouth
