"Roses, chocolates and cakes are your fallback options when you give someone a rushed Valentine's Day gift."
Yes, that anonymous quote is true. If you are a bit light on cash, or just lazy enough to give your dear one a great experience on Hearts Day, then those are probably your first (and last) options. Cheap choices, aye? (no offense!)
However, the meaning of Valentine's Day doesn't only revolved in the general public itself. It also revolves between teenage students, like me!
Last Wednesday was day 4 of our School Anniversary dance rehearsals. However, before it started, the boys in my year level were holding bouquets of roses and boxes of chocolates (the Godiva kind!). I was amazed at how they are dedicated enough to surprise their girlfriends. They wouldn't mind if there was a teacher inside the room! Just barge in, call your girl, and that's it!
If you ask me about my Valentine's Day, this year was the best one. And probably the sneakiest I've ever been. I gave an anonymous cake and letter to my girl's best friend, and she passed it over to her. According to her best friend, she didn't know at first who sent it. She had 2 choices. It was either I, or her other friend that she has a crush on. I felt dismayed, but then my chances increased, because of what the girl's best friend told me. It's a complex story, but to make it short, she still doesn't know who sent it (at the time of writing this).
So that's how Valentine's Day works in my school. Quite complicated, right? But, you have to do everything for love to be by your side! Ha ha ha!
Also, I'd like to offer my condolences and prayers to the families of the victims that were killed during the horrific mass shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
