RE: The MAKE IT HEALTHY PROJECT MAGAZINE: Issue #2

in #makeithealthy7 years ago

So many posts, that will keep me busy for the next week till the next issue just trying to read them all.
A few there that might help me with a little issue I was having, (not knowing what to bake for a school thing, they were asking if some parents could please do either vegan or gluten free, wanted something fun, some of those recipes above might do the trick. )

Ah, interesting you mentioned that, as I have been toying with a few ideas about gathering specific recipes/ideas through the project somehow, maybe a contest, though I'm reluctant to do anything that time-consuming after the Steemit Culinary Challenge took all my time up. But for example, I have a friend who supports someone with type 2 diabetes and she asked me if I had any low GI recipes, which I didn't specifically, but then I thought why not put the request to the community? That could work, maybe?! And now you get me thinking about expanding that idea, so perhaps a different request every week, including vegan, gluten free, and all kinds of particular things. Hmmmm... I'll see if I can find a not-so-time-consuming way to run a contest, because not only is it fun for people to join in, but it'd be a great way of getting recipes/ideas for specific things people from the community keep asking about.

That would be a great idea, was going to do a post to ask people for idea's also, but I think there's a few posts that might fit the requirement (as the need to last a day before the event, so that needs to be considered, as a great one was put out a few weeks ago, but that has fresh fruit, don't think that would keep in this heat, not being in the fridge.)
It would be great to have an idea to go to when in need, when the kids like to leave the notices to the due day to give you to whip something up.

Yes, some quick-to-prepare recipes would be wonderful for so many parents! Good point too about temperature being an issue for fresh fruit (not in Ireland though haha). I will put this idea on my to-do list and hopefully get something started soon :-) But I wouldn't want to take your idea if it's something you wanted to get going yourself? Perhaps (if time allows) you could do some kind of weekly "What's in the Lunch Box?" post, so a mixture of what you give your children already, and also requests for other ideas/recipes from the community? Umm.. you could give a percentage of the post rewards to the recipes you like the best! Or something like that!

That's a cool idea, no not at all your not taking my idea, we both had the same thought.
I have so many ideas for posts that I haven't been doing the issues I've started.
Was thinking along that idea, but making from recipes from Steemit and websites, like a Trying Recipes from websites series. That would be neat for that idea to be more interact with the steemit community also. Still on the list is made in New Zealand, so many idea's get to the computer have writers block.

Hey @woman-onthe-wing, it's @biglipsmama, using the-curators account, just wanted to swing by using this account to let you know that we added your link to this post and mentioned about the #makeithealthy tag in our latest issue.

You're very kind @biglipsmama, that's greatly appreciated! Sounds like you have a good lot of ideas yourself, that's wonderful :-) Any way I can help out, even if it's just promoting anything you want to get going you can count on me!
