๐ Heres a Tweet from our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau:๐
@JustinTrudeau
"Itโs been too easy for our kids to get marijuana - and for criminals to reap the profits. Today, we change that. Our plan to legalize & regulate marijuana just passed the Senate. #PromiseKept"

๐ This billion dollar industry is going to be fantastic for everyone even if you don't smoke. Its medical uses are far ranging and I for one will benefit from its use for my arthritis pain! Children having seizures, people going through chemo therapy just to name a few that can use oil etc. without the THC so you dont actually have to get high but it reduces pain and increases appetite, so much more beneficial and healthier then pharmaceuticals.
๐Of course you can smoke it and get a BUZZ If you like!๐ฌ
๐๐ฌ Every province in Canada will have their own provincial government rules along with the Federal Governments legislation. where everyone will be allowed to carry up 30 grams. of Marijuana on them as well as be able to grow up to 4 plants for personal use legally! This is so awesome! As well as changes to the impaired driving law. Check out the link above for much more information.

HIGH FIVE CANADA! ITS ABOUT TIME WOOT! โ๐๐ฌ
That is great news and it is about time that the United States and Mexico does the same thing. This war on pot is ridiculous. There are people in prison for life for pot here in the United States.
The next thing that needs to be done is to release all "criminals" who are in the prison and jail systems for pot related stuff.
I totally agree ! Its insane what they do down there, the prisons are over capacity and just keep building new ones , all at the tax payers expense ! such BS! Check out the link I added under the flag, thers quite a few states that have now legalized it in different ways mind you, with more being added all the time, ! ๐๐๐๐๐ฌ
I got this from the link above: "In the neighboring US, nine states and the District of Columbia now allow for recreational marijuana use, and 30 allow for medical use."
Yeah there are even some police forces where they guarantee to arrest a certain amount of people each year. They just go around looking for trouble a lot of times and then a lot of prisons are privately owned so there is a lot of money in getting the prisons filled up. It is nuts.
No kidding eh! what BS!๐๐๐
I got this from the link above:
"In the neighboring US, nine states and the District of Columbia now allow for recreational marijuana use, and 30 allow for medical use."
Yeah and it is so dumb that it is broken up like that to be honest. There used to be a time when the drinking laws were all over the place like that where the drinking age was 19 in some states and 21 in others states so you had people traveling to the next states over and all that. It was just silly. Even my home state of Indiana they can't sell alcohol on Sundays. It is like imposing some weird religious thing on everyone I guess. It doesn't make any sense.
Sound rediculous ! something like that should be the same across the country . Like here the new marijuana law by the Government that passed it is the same for everyone, but each province can also add or restrict their own laws on top of that ! so say what I can do here in BC I cant do one province over in Alberta. So stupid!๐ฌ
And let's not forget to wipe that record clean so that they can get a job upon release.
Agreed, especially since some of the older life sentences were for mere possession.
I had a friend in California whose older brother was murdered in prison, having been sent there for a single joint, after a cop found it on a rourine traffic stop. The really sad part was that it wasn't even his joint; a friend had left it in his car, and he didn't even know it was there.
If weren't for our profit-driven "drug war," he would most likely still be alive today, having lived a good, full life.
It is really sad and there needs to be a continued public outcry of this kind of bullshit. All for profit they keep shoving these non violent "criminals" in with legit crazy killers and rapist. I mean WTF
No argument. It's been going on for way too long.
Prison for profit was a bad idea from the get go.
Congrats from Las Vegas !!!!
Thank you! ๐โ๐๐๐ฌ
When marijuana is legalized and the people all agree; "We smoke in peace."
Congrats to Canada eh!
Hahaha yes for sure my friend Thanks! I fully agree!โโ๐๐๐ฌ
ahaaa Its a great news for Canadian people . I really wish it cud be legalized in India too .
Thank you , yes for sure it should be world wide! more and more states in the USA are legalizing it and im sure in the future once they see how benificial it works out for Canada in many different ways, more places will follow suit!๐๐๐โ๐๐ฌ
Alaska was the only state in the US that allowed its people to grow and smoke at their house. It was still federally illegal but "legal" in Alaska. When they legalized it officially for some reason we are now allowed to have less. So annoying.
I am happy for Canada. At least they legalized the whole country! Way to go Canada!
That is craziness @lanadancer ! thanks for your awesome reply ! Yes its going to be so awesome for Canada in many ways!โ๐๐๐ฌ
Way to go Canada! It only makes sense to legalize cannabis. However, the drug companies are too powerful in the United States for it to happen anytime soon!
Haha Thanks ! this is true @lcerm , Big Pharma is Huge! but more and more states are legalizing all the time !๐๐๐ฌ
Maybe you'll do it the same in the USA as we did it here in Canada!
We gave the big pharma companies the licenses to grow and sell cannabis! Now all the government, ex-cops, and judges who put people in prison for the past 80 years can make a profit off it instead.... AND keep putting us all in jail because we don't have licenses!
Brilliant, right?
Brilliant. But the USA is so messed up!
It's so sad they only "legalized" for themselves to grow and sell, and tens of thousands of peaceful Canadians are still going to jail for a plant :(
Shame on anyone who doesn't look deeper into this farce, and endorses it as though it were going to benefit a single Canadian!
Us activists who fought for this legalization for DECADES are shocked, as our worst nightmare has come true, and cannabis prohibition gets even more draconian and brutal here in Canada :(
That's great, i don't use it but a friend of mine got busted today down here because he had a few plants at his house.
Thanks for you awesome reply! I know that sucks! at least here you will soon be able to grow at least 4 plants legally for your own personal use, its such BS to bust people for such small amounts, I also no longer smoke but my 2 sons do @mmckersie and @gavinthegreat ! Im all for it!โ๐โ๐
Only in BC can you grow 4 plants. The rest of the provinces are banning home growing.
Also, you have to buy the 4 plants from the government, you can't grow anything else. And they're $125 each, plus shipping. Only Monsanto genetics.
Also, you must own your own building if you want to grow. No outdoor growing. Renters can't grow.
Oh wow ,most of this , I did not know but I did know you can only grow 4 plants in B.C. Thanks for the information , im sure much more information will be coming out by October as to what the exact rules each province will be adding on top of the Governments Main rules. Its all going to be quite interesting indeed and a big learning curve per province , especially if you want to grow or smoke it! thanks for stopping by!๐๐๐๐๐๐ฌ
They must consider its positive sides, its contribution to economy and health, before passing the bill. marijuana legalise @karenmckersie but, i think they have to be very careful in regulating it use in the country.
Oh for sure this is why its taking so long to pass this bill, read the link I added above under the Canada flag theres a lot more information there ! every province will have its own regulations added on top the Governments laws. thanks for your awesome reply!๐๐ฌโโ

What's so great about Canada's government legalizing marijuana?
That depends on what Province you live in as every Province will have different rules / whether you smoke it or dont smoke it / Or If like me you need it in other forms for medicinal purposes for pain and need oil that you dont get high on , and dont like buying on the street corner / If you want to grow it or not , there are still more rules getting worked out by October 17 and im sure will still need to worked on after that as this all new here in Canada. So like anything there is good and bad, I dont smoke myself anymore but know many that do . thanks for your reply, Have a good day I am off to sleep. Night shift worker...Zzzzzz!๐ด๐ด๐ด
I know I asked a pretty general, vague question. Maybe I should ask why is the government involved in the first place? And with this latest stunt they will be even more involved. The government has the midas touch in reverse: everything they touch turns to shit. And there in my view is the problem...government involvement. People should be allowed to use cannabis however they want...or not. So this whole thing will turn into a shitshow, eventually at least, just like the gun registry, the public school system, the Aboriginal reserve system, Kinder Morgan pipeline, etc. So all you people singing the praises of marijuana legalization, don't hold your breath. A more accurate term would be government management of marijuana until the "industry" is all screwed up and producing substandard weed. All at a loss, with the taxpayers left to pick up the bill. Good day!
