How would you live if you had the ability to pay yourself every time you posted & commented on a post, even if that post was your own?
Would you do that non-stop daily, or would you take the other option?
Share the wealth with others.
Some whales on Steemit keep all the rewards for their self, if that's what they choose to do then so be it. However I am eternally grateful to the ones who decide to do otherwise. Sharing their tremendous voting power with others can dramatically change lives.
One simple click may shift some users' entire esteem.

Hmm I did not realise you can self up vote comments
You can, but there really isn't much point in doing it, especially with low Steem Power. If you have a lot of Steem Power, you can literally pay yourself just by upvoting your own comments on your own posts. Nobody else even has to be involved.
That doesn't sound fair does it?
Not far if it tends out to be like this. Do you perhaps use the Curie service or have used it in the past ? I am not winning to propose my post post after creating a verified account
I follow the @curie curation trail on Streemian. Besides that, no I have not used it.
Okay thanks buddy
If it is unfair to self up vote, WHY would the program allow you to do it?
That’s a legitimate question. I do it sometimes, not saying that the rules here on Steemit need to change at all. I was rather saying that somebody who uses 100% of their daily voting power in just their self is not using Steemit how it was designed to be used, in my opinion.
Spreading the wealth and curating is a huge part of this whole thing.
But then again if somebody chooses to focus on just their self, I cannot say they are wrong for it. They are using Steemit without cheating, although morally it may not be totally correct.
I created this post somewhat satirically.
I myseif think that while you are still very low down on the scale from Minnow to Dolphin to Whale, its fine to self vote, as the Dolphins and Whales do not know you exist. Where as once you have built up Steem, then its a different matter, then you begin to be noticed and can afford not to self vote.
I can imagine that people upvote their own posts, they have invested time into writing the piece.
Upvoting own comments is a complete different thing. It sometimes feel that they are making a profit on other peoples work. For the ones without a slider I do consider it useless.
But if you see this happening and the value is enough, than upvote it too, so you can profit for the curation reward!
I wrote an article about this awhile ago here. I dont see the problem with upvoting your own posts - as long as they are good quality! I think this is a way to increase your posts visibility.
What I really i hate and see a lot of here is when people with lots of SP comment something like 'nice post' and then upvote their comment. All that does is make them richer and also brings their comment up nearer the top of the comments and pushes down potentially more valuable comments
Yes! You can see exactly what I am talking about. You hit the nail on the head here.
Glad we agree :)
Was just chatting about paypay or whatever her name is pay paying her own comments on all the newbie posts.
Not sure of this user, but this sounds like the kind of behavior that I was talking about.
