Well sir,
there is only one thing to do....
Start repeating yourself.
It is what all the gurus do. A new student comes and sits at his feet, and once again, he says the same thing. That new student achieves a new level in focus and is able to see the world anew, and the guru, repeats the same thing he did when the student started. But now, the student understands, a bit more, about what was said.
So, remember to
- Tell them what you are going to tell them
- Tell them
- Tell them what you told them.
And enjoy. The highest joy is the best goal.
I love repeating myself :p
Your 3-point strategy is Greek play classic. Greek tragedies used this so much (studied theatre history in Cegep). The chorus would sing the intro to the play, say what it was about. The main characters arrived on stage. Something tragic happened. Oedipus talks for 30 minutes about how he is going to pluck his eyes out. He goes off-stage. The chorus sings for 30 minutes about how Oedipus is plucking his eyes out. He returns from off-stage, and goes on for another 30 minutes about how he plucked his eyes out.
If it worked for the Greeks and made their plays at the time a success, it should work for us too, right?
It's the same formula that I learned in English classes for writing essays, with an intro thesis, the body of the essay, and then a conclusion. Sometimes I actually remember to use it in writing here.
Yes. And for intros there is repetition too, you bring up the subject and hint at it, before getting to it and listing its details. Conclusions too, you recap and stuff.
Today we are going to talk about repetition. Repetition is quite repetitive. We will be looking at how to repeat, how to repeat, and how to be repetitive.
So now you know how repetition works. You can be repetitive by repeating. Perhaps some day humanity will repeat its positive aspects more readily than histories tragedies and catastrophes.
:p
Oh man being a guru would be a terrible job. No pay, long hours, no thanks. I think I'll always be the student, maybe the self-taught wise fool is my calling.
It does sound like the formula for writing essays, the thesis intro, 'what you're going to tell', then the 'tell them' part, and finally a conclusion, which rephrases the intro thesis sentence. Hey, maybe you are the guru here, now that I think about it.
