I think the origin of the debate of whether to adopt equality of opportunity or equality of outcome is the theory that even if there is an equality of opportunity by law, because of the pressure of society the outcome will be different. Nonetheless, I agree with you, since pressuring the equality of outcome is in no one's interest (besides the ones who wants an advantage for their gender over the other) since it might force people who actually are not interested in certain opportunities to take them.
I believe that we have to give the society enough time to adapt itself and then we're going to see if the outcome is going to be equal or not. Forcing it is certainly not the right way for me.

The thing is, itvis practically impossible for all the people to have equal outcome when there are so much differences of gender, culture and age etc. are at play. Demanding equality of outcome is foolish. Earning it is almost practically impossible. The most we can do is create equality of opportunity at this stage, then, if we succeed, we can get into this debate about whether to pursue equality of outcome or just settle for equality of opportunity. In reality, we haven’t even achieved the basic goal to the full extent right now.
