First time reading work by you - nice job although I skipped the stuff at the end. I agree with you on most of what you said, but I have two points to add.
There are those who cannot be redeemed by society given the knowledge and technology we currently possess, and that includes the seriously mentally damaged people such as psychopaths. It would take, at this point, genuine willingness on the part of the psychopath and years of therapy to help one reconnect with their emotional palette. Thus, people who have been irretrievably damaged, I'm afraid, are mostly a lost cause. It's not their fault, really, but we lack the ability to help them.
In order to make significant changes with long-term impact, it would require systemic behavioral changes across all cultures and religions, at all levels, and indoctrination (i.e. brainwashing) would be required to reprogram people, some of whom would be immune, and how can we trust the puppeteers at the top to do what's in everyone's best interest instead of their own? We can't. Yes, we should all try to avoid seeking revenge, give love, make good choices, and so on, but it would be naive, in the face of the human condition, to behave as if everyone will just start acting better because we turned the other cheek. Some people just aren't willing to change...
That said, I certainly would like to see heaven on Earth!
Hug reciprocated! :) Feel free to put me on the list...
