RE: How much Can I make Selling my Vote to MinnowBooster?

in #minnowbooster7 years ago (edited)

You both make good points. However, at the end of the day this should purely be about the customer and in most cases the customer is not sophisticated enough to use your api to front run MB votes, nor do they want to spend the time. They want to pay for a vote on their post and have that payment be profitable for them.

In general, the customer wants to use a service that offers a decent return on their upfront investment, an investment that can easily turn negative if the price of steem drops over the next 7 days.

The bottom line is the more you squeeze the customer the more likely they are to go away and then this whole service falls apart because at the end of the day if people aren't sending you guys money, there is no service.

Keep it as profitable as possible for the customer and everything else should come secondary. Especially from a service that is being sponsored by Steemit.inc.

Sort:

A few points:
We have multiple customer groups. Our buy customers are happy and we have too many of them. Our sell customers are not and we need more.

And we are not sponsored by Steemit.inc? Where did you read such nonsense?

I guess I just assumed the freedom account was connected to them as it's actions seem to indicate as much.

My point in all of this is that there are already other services out there that squeeze the customer to the point no profit can realistically be expected to be made, or very little. You guys have been one of the few that don't do that, I wouldn't be in a hurry to change that if I were you guys... you could potentially monopolize the pay for votes industry by staying the course.

We are moving with the market: When everyone wants votes, votes will become more expensive to attract more sellers. That will happen till there is a balance and maybe votes become cheaper again.

That is the thing, there will be no balance, well I mean there won't be a balance until it is unprofitable to buy votes. The market has already shown us that is the case with renting SP. At the best market rate of renting SP, it is still virtually impossible to turn a profit even if you use the vote on yourself 10 times per day. There is only demand because people don't do the math or understand it when they pay that price.
