Very much agreed. I think there are so many other quality fights and fighters to focus on.
It's a very strange matchup... but still, to see if Conor can pull it off will be interesting. I will definitely watch it.
After this fight, UFC needs to get back to focusing on their own organization and creating new stars. I've been really down on UFC since the Reebok deal and new ownership. Hopefully they can turn it around since Bellator just can't seem to get to that level yet.
I agree. The amount the UFC is paying their stable of fighters (outside of the Connor/Ronda's of the world) is outrageously shameful. Once you factor in paying your camp, travel expenses for your team, Nutrition etc, and the fact a lot of them can't get sponsored because of the rebook deal, a lot of these athletes aren't making a decent living. I imagine gladiators in Rome were pampered better outside the arena! The new owners should work on this.
I think this is where bellator gets it right, they might not have as polished a production value, but their fighters are compensated better. That's why bellator keeps nicking good talent away from Dana like Mousasi and the Red King Rory Macdonald. Plus having a majority of fights be free on spike is democratic in my mind.
