RE: Steemit Loan Update for 8/14 - Testing an example of using a steem account as loan collateral

in #money7 years ago

@michelle.gent - I respect everybody's opinion on the matter and it might all go just fine.

But I think you're overestimating human nature and more so when they are on an 'anonymous' medium. You ever notice how the anonymity of the internet brings out the best in people - yeah - neither do I. You get wars over nothing because people don't have to deal with real life repercussions.

Don't kid yourself - this is not a community and everyone wants something from you because they have no idea who you are and will never really have to face you over it.

@cactii,

I'm not kidding myself.

This is a community.

So far, the only people that want something from me are 'Follow me', 'upvote me' and 'read my blog' - and the spam in my messages people trying to sell me resteems - but as they're actually giving me .001 steem every time they message me, I guess I'm on the right side of that transaction.

I'm more of a cynic and 'people-watcher' than an over-estimator of human nature and I'm on the cynical side of that group too, as it goes.

I've been here for a little under a year and there may be those people that try to scam others, but because this is a close community and we're all about communication, word soon gets around and believe it or believe it not, these are the kind of people who would say:

"You lost all your money because of that scam-artist? Right, we'll see about that!"

And the next thing you know, the scam-artist would be flagged to oblivion, the community would be warned about the scam and the artist and the unfortunate gullible person would have a fund-raising post either written on their behalf or resteemed to high heaven and their lost Steem would be - if not returned, then at least replaced.

Also, and I speak from experience here, 'anonymity' is never quite so anonymous as people think.

Don't get me wrong, just like @virtualgrowth, I'm not gonna loan you $1000 Steem either, but I dare say, if you asked the right person, with the right kind of business plan and recompense program, you'd get that 1k and more too if the business plan was sound.

...this is a community...

In the technical sense yes... but I doubt that everybody sees it as you do. Most people come here and only see free money.

You do realize you're commenting on an obvious successful project?

You could redirect your negativity to something and someone more unstable, if you intend to ruin hope, lol

Ohhh... You are obviously one of those left winger nutcases... When's the next LQBTQRSY3H2 march?

It's an opposing view, that's all. If you think this is a community where everybody sits around the campfire and sing Kumbaya that's all good - there always has to be suckers in this world.

You're one of em

Dude... Your domain name is going to expire in a month... better get on that. Who puts their home address on their domain registry these days anyways?

come see me and find out

nothing anonymous about me anymore... I'm pretty public cause of my job

So was Bernie Madoff.
