"WITHERED BEAUTY" - MonochromeMonday and Monomad Photography Challenges

in #monochromemonday7 years ago (edited)

Every stage of nature really has its beauty.

In spring, a green blanket of tiny, two-leaved sprouts as thick as grass
take over the land at the @gardenofeden.

 As the summer progresses,
thousands of cheery, yellow faces dance in the breeze.

As the autumn approaches, the flowers pull their 8-10 foot stems to the ground
to drop their seeds for next year's bounty.

Their death in winter
leaves us delicate, withered beauties to appreciate.

"WITHERED BEAUTY”

I couldn't decide which one to support today, so I'm doing them both!

See if you can guess what @old-guy-photos shared in his

Beautiful @everlove!

Their death in winter
leaves us delicate, withered beauties to appreciate.

That cuts right to the essence.
Thanks for the poem.

Right to the essence---as nature always does!

What a blessing to see you here @dougkarr. You are really present here with us at the @gardenofeden. There are lots of things sprouting in our realities -- EXCITING!!!

Sweetness 💛

I love your awesome construction and use of words in this poem. A great one.

Thanks @alfred1. I really hadn't thought it to be a poem, just some thoughts. But I'm grateful you interpreted it that way. Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it.

There truly is beauty in decay. At the end of the Summer, early Autumn I love that in my garden. Especially late Autumn after the first frost there is that moment in time when the eventual death of the plant has been frozen in a moment in time. The cold night shriveled the last bit of life form the flower or leaf and the ice has crystalised the beauty of that dying moment.

So many wonderful photo/art opportunities at this moment. Truly a striking photo with the stark contrast of the background against the delicately curled leaves.

Spoken like a true gardener @donnadvisart! Many people fail to appreciate, or even see, the amazing gifts of nature, especially in the moments of being "frozen in a moment in time"! I'm grateful to share with you this joyous perspective. I appreciate your comment, your shared interest in art and the beauty of nature.

There is so much joy in all aspects of things gardening and artwork, that sometimes we can miss it. We are taught to get to the product the finish line, but I have always love the meandering path to it and the process. I think gardening at an early age and learning it from my beloved Grandfather taught me the joy of patience. And boy does gardening teach you that!

There is so very much to learn from nature. How awesome that it was passed down to you from past generations. I too had a gardening family, and I grew up in the mountains, spending a ton of my childhood outside-- blessed beyond words!

The circle of life!

cool photo. which camera did you use?

Is this safe or healthy to eat..?

Many types of sunflowers are edible, providing sunflower seeds, and sunflower oil. I doubt it would be very tasty in this withered form.

Beautiful photo,i love the poem

if we can see the beauty in a withered flower, just imagine what we can see in a blooming blossom <3

True that @eco-alex. I love that you and I both know that! There is so much to appreciate!

Thanks so much for your comment.
