Little miss Katia is 3 years old. She was born on a rubbish dumb to a feral mother and decided to become tame and friendly all by herself. She was given to me when she was about 4 months old by someone who feared for her safety in the rough neighbourhood that she was born in.
She used to be very thin and had a chronic lung infection which needed one month of antibiotics before it cleared up and now she loves eating. Although she never grew very big, she is quite fat although that doesn't stop her climbing trees, perching on shoulders and hunting rats and lizards and she's very good at it.
It is fairly unusual for feral-born kittens to tame themselves without human intervention and normally, if they aren't tamed within the first 5-7 weeks of life, they become very difficult to tame thereafter and some never do. It seems that she decided early on to make humans her slaves and remained behind alone after her very wild mother moved the rest of her siblings elsewhere a few weeks after she was born. She was not fed very much by the people that she adopted but she remained friendly and when I went to collect her, when I picked her up she instantly snuggled against my shoulder. She is the smallest and youngest of all my cats but she doesn't let the others bully her at all.
We have one that is almost the exact opposite in color.
Show us!
His name is Digby. Some High School friends of one of my sons named him. They found him in a garage as a kitten but the kid who found him was allergic to cats. So they brought him to our house. They know we are suckers for the strays.
Actually I am seeing the color is not exactly opposite. But when I first saw your photo that was my thought.
Digby I notice has changed color and gotten darker with age. I just shot this photo and realize even more change than the photo above.
Is that unusual or do lighter cats get darker with age? I've never had one change this much.
He looks a bit like a Snowshoe, making him partly Siamese. Siamese cats are known to get darker with age. Apparently this happens because their skin temperature drops. So it is normal for Digby, who is gorgeous
We thought he would probably be part Siamese.
He is a handsome cat, and sometimes I think he knows it the way he acts. Very privileged at times.
Awwwww!!! touching. she is very cute
Everyone who meets her loves her
You know what they say, sometimes its the cats that pick their owners.
If they smell you and like you, well, you belong to them now lol
That's true
Aww what a lovely story, so glad she has a nice home, we have a rescue cat too and can't imagine what she would have been like if we didn't take her in!
Sadly, their lives are usually hell if people don't take them in
Your right, wish I could home more, it would be amazing to have an animal sanctuary!
I have 6. It's getting out of hand
Aww I would love 6 !! I don't think you can ever have too many, you just might need a bigger house!
When you have more than 2 or 3, it becomes more and more tricky for them to all get along without bullying and behavioural issues like spraying or overgrooming happening
Of course! We have 2, one we had when she was a kitten and a rescue cat, it took around 3 months for them to be ok with each other, they have their moments but get on fine, I cant imagine its hard with 6!!
A movie should be made on the story of this little beauty.
She's not that important, but thank you
Cat's are love. I love cats are too much cute and nice. Nice picture
The cat has 500 skeletal muscles (humans have 650).

Beautiful
She subdues her fears and act like child who is afraid of failure.
The way you speak of her makes her more human than feline.
She's beautiful. Congrats!!
How are you Miss katia?
Touching, naughty, wise, playful and many other words that can be said about cats and cats. They come to our house and become family members. They say that the cat is absolutely independent and does not care about its owners. But this is perfect nonsense and a phenomenal lie. The cat knows perfectly well who lives with her in the house. And she certainly loves her owners. Of course, not as people do, but loves, misses, rejoices when you come into the house. She does it completely in her own way, but we understand this.
