Pictures of the Moon

in #moon2 months ago

From time to time I watch the moon and I also take pictures of it. At least I did when I still had my 150-600mm lens. But It is a very nice point of interest and I really enjoy taking pictures of it since it is also quite Easy with the right equipment and on a day with clear sky and no clouds. A crescent moon can be very beautiful and depending on the moon phase it is more or less visible. The shaddow of the earth creates such a big contrast that only the enlighted part is visible. This is why usually full moon is the more interesting time to take some pictures of the moon, but depending on angle and time of the month I also like when the moon is only partially visible like on these pictures.

The moon is only visible because it reflects enough light from the sun back to earth and due to the fact that the shaddow of the earth on the moon moves and changes over time it is also one of the most interesting objects in space for us to observe.
