It's sometimes hard to stay hopeful and positive knowing everything I know. I have to do it though for the sake of the cause, furthering individual liberty, and for my children's future.
"Don't let the bastards get you down." Instead, pick yourself up, drive forward, and make the bastards pay a heavy price.
It's not with sadness or for glory that I fight; I'm fueled by improving the world for those who live on after me instead. I'll die smiling in battle too.
Just two nights ago I was watching the full free movie with English subtitles called "Alatriste" on YT. Within the movie Captain Alatriste, not surprisingly, dies in the end.
My youngest son was watching the end of the movie with me. As the closing scene comes to an end, I saluted the main character. As I did it my son was perplexed and asked what I was doing and why.
I told him I saluted him because he died doing what he does best while defending what he loves. Few people do it. Few people are warriors.
A good quote, from one of the captain's friends in the movie was, "Death's but a formality."
I enjoyed this, thank you. I have found myself standing and applauding at the end of some films, I'll check Alatriste out.
